Henley-on-Thames sits at the heart of the Thames Valley, famous worldwide for the Henley Royal Regatta, which has drawn rowing crews to its 2,112-metre straight course since 1839. The town's riverside charm unfolds along Hart Street and Duke Street, where Georgian coaching inns and independent shops line the route to the 800-year-old St Mary the Virgin Church. Cross the ornate Henley Bridge, built in 1786 from Headington stone, and you reach the River & Rowing Museum, which traces the story of the Thames from source to sea. The Kenton Theatre, one of the oldest working theatres in England, has staged performances since 1805. For green space, head to Marsh Meadows or follow the Thames Path towards Hambleden Lock, where the beech-clad Chiltern Hills rise on either side of the valley. Oxford lies just 37 km to the north-west, while Reading is only 14 km to the south, making Henley-on-Thames an ideal base for exploring the wider region. The surrounding Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty offers quiet lanes well suited to campervan touring, with gentle gradients and plenty of laybys. With Yescapa, you can hire a motorhome or campervan directly from a local owner, giving you the flexibility to set your own pace and discover the Thames Valley on your own terms.
Henley-on-Thames is at its liveliest during the first week of July, when the Henley Royal Regatta fills the riverbanks with spectators and colour. The Henley Festival of Music and Arts follows immediately after, offering open-air concerts beside the Thames. Summer is the most popular season, so booking your campervan through Yescapa early gives you the widest choice from local owners. Spring and autumn bring quieter roads through the Chilterns and easier access to riverside campsites. Even winter has its appeal, with cosy pubs and frost-dusted walks along the Thames Path making Henley-on-Thames a rewarding year-round destination for a motorhome trip.

I had the most wonderful trip in Eve’s van. It has everything you need, a great sized fridge, a large comfy bed, cooking equipment, electrics to be off grid, a great shower & toilet. The van ran very smoothly and was a perfect size even driving through the towns was no problem at all. They were very accommodating, helping me with local tip and recommendations. I’d 100% recommend this van to anyone thinking of taking a road trip, you won’t regret it :)
Inigio and his lovely girlfriend looked after Dolly for one week here in the Algarve area. They brought her back clean and in really good shape. Before and during the rental period we had a very good dialogue. I can highly reccomend them to lend your car. :-)
Our trip was fantastic, couldn't recommend travelling Sicily via Camper further. Angela and Luca made that super easy with clear comms and help pre booking, during holiday and after. pick up and drop off was a breeze. Clear instructions on how to use the van. All in all great trip.
Fabio made the whole process super easy and was very flexible with our plans. The van was perfect. Practically brand new and had all we needed.
Fantastic experience. Raul really went above and beyond to help us out and was always responsive with any queries we had. The van was in excellent condition, had everything we needed, and was ideal for our trip into the Pyrenees, plus heading south for the solar eclipse. Would highly recommend.
Very helpful owner and great vehicle! Had a great time in the Mundaka.
