Andover's Guildhall, built in 1825, still stands at the heart of the High Street as one of Hampshire's finest Georgian civic buildings. This market town in the Test Valley offers a rewarding mix of history, green spaces and easy access to some of southern England's most celebrated landscapes. The Museum of the Iron Age houses artefacts from the nearby Danebury Hill Fort, an excavated Iron Age settlement dating back over 2,000 years. A short walk from the centre brings you to Charlton Lakes, a peaceful spot for birdwatching and lakeside strolls. For a grander day out, Highclere Castle — the real Downton Abbey — sits just 11 km to the north, while the cathedral city of Salisbury is roughly 30 km to the south-west, making both ideal additions to any touring itinerary. The surrounding Test Valley is known for its chalk streams and gentle countryside, with wide roads and well-maintained lanes that suit larger vehicles comfortably. Andover also sits close to the A303, giving you a direct route towards the West Country or back towards London. With Yescapa, you can hire a campervan or motorhome directly from local owners in the Andover area, often at more flexible rates than traditional hire companies. It is a practical base for exploring Hampshire and beyond at your own pace.
Andover comes alive in July with the Andover Carnival, a community celebration featuring parades, live music and family activities across the town. Autumn is equally appealing, when the Test Valley's woodlands turn golden and campsites are quieter. Summer remains the most popular season for campervan travel, so booking your vehicle through Yescapa ahead of time helps you secure the best choice from local owners. Spring and early autumn offer comfortable driving conditions and more availability at nearby campsites. Andover's central Hampshire location means you can enjoy mild weather well into October.

The Andover area offers a good selection of campsites set in the Hampshire countryside. Many are tucked into the Test Valley's rolling farmland, giving you a quiet base within easy reach of the town and the wider region.
Andover has several car parks in and around the town centre that can accommodate larger vehicles, though height barriers apply at some multi-storey facilities. For overnight stays, dedicated motorhome stopovers or nearby campsites are your best option, as on-street overnight parking for campervans is not generally permitted in the town centre. Always check signage for any restrictions before leaving your vehicle.
I had the most wonderful trip in Eve’s van. It has everything you need, a great sized fridge, a large comfy bed, cooking equipment, electrics to be off grid, a great shower & toilet. The van ran very smoothly and was a perfect size even driving through the towns was no problem at all. They were very accommodating, helping me with local tip and recommendations. I’d 100% recommend this van to anyone thinking of taking a road trip, you won’t regret it :)
Inigio and his lovely girlfriend looked after Dolly for one week here in the Algarve area. They brought her back clean and in really good shape. Before and during the rental period we had a very good dialogue. I can highly reccomend them to lend your car. :-)
Our trip was fantastic, couldn't recommend travelling Sicily via Camper further. Angela and Luca made that super easy with clear comms and help pre booking, during holiday and after. pick up and drop off was a breeze. Clear instructions on how to use the van. All in all great trip.
Fabio made the whole process super easy and was very flexible with our plans. The van was perfect. Practically brand new and had all we needed.
Fantastic experience. Raul really went above and beyond to help us out and was always responsive with any queries we had. The van was in excellent condition, had everything we needed, and was ideal for our trip into the Pyrenees, plus heading south for the solar eclipse. Would highly recommend.
