Eastleigh's railway heritage runs deep — the town grew around the London and South Western Railway works established in 1891, and today the Eastleigh Railway Works still operates as one of the oldest active rail maintenance depots in the country. Sitting in the heart of Hampshire, Eastleigh offers easy access to both coast and countryside. The Lakeside Country Park provides over 60 acres of lakes, meadows and woodland trails right on the town's doorstep, while the Point Dance and Arts Centre hosts a lively programme of performances and exhibitions year-round. History enthusiasts can explore the Eastleigh Museum on High Street, which charts the town's transformation from a quiet village to a bustling railway hub. For a change of pace, Itchen Valley Country Park lies just 3 km to the north, with gentle riverside walks ideal for families. Southampton is only 9 km to the south-west, giving you quick access to its maritime museums and cruise terminal, while Winchester, the ancient capital of England, sits 16 km to the north. The surrounding Hampshire landscape is well suited to larger vehicles, with wide A-roads and plenty of well-signposted routes connecting market towns and coastal destinations. With Yescapa, you can hire a campervan or motorhome directly from local owners in the Eastleigh area, making it simple to collect your vehicle nearby and set off on your own Hampshire adventure without the fuss of a traditional depot. Eastleigh works brilliantly as a launchpad for exploring the South Coast and the South Downs.
Eastleigh is enjoyable throughout the year, but late spring through to early autumn brings the longest days and warmest weather for touring Hampshire. The Eastleigh Mardi Gras, held each July, fills the town centre with live music, carnival floats and street food — well worth timing your trip around. Booking a campervan through Yescapa during the quieter months of April or October can offer great value, as peer-to-peer hire means owners often set flexible pricing outside peak summer weeks. Eastleigh's central location also means campsites nearby tend to have good availability in shoulder season.

The countryside around Eastleigh offers a good selection of campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. You will find sites with electric hook-ups, modern shower blocks and waste disposal points within easy reach of the town. Several are set in peaceful Hampshire farmland, while others sit closer to the coast near Southampton Water. Eastleigh has several options for parking larger vehicles while you explore the town and surrounding area. On-street parking in the centre is limited in size, so dedicated car parks and out-of-town areas are your best bet for a campervan or motorhome. Always check height barriers before entering multi-storey facilities. Overnight parking in public car parks is generally not permitted unless specifically signed, so plan ahead for an overnight stop at a nearby campsite.
We absolutely loved our time in the caddy! Everything was great, from the collection, the functionality and the communication. The van is small but mighty, the owners have thought of every little detail (sink, shower, storage, kitchen, and a good sized comfy bed). We highly recommend using Yescapa and hiring this van- perfect for your dolomites adventure!
We hired the van for 8 nights and it was perfect. Went up to the mountains and down to the beach. It was very spacious and well kitted out. The owners are also lovely, accommodating and quick to reply to our message
Both Jesus and Susana were very communicative and made the rental process very easy. The van is basically new in very good condition and easy to handle. It was fun cooking in remote places having a beautiful view and having a large fridge really helped to keep all cool and fresh. We had a nice time with it and would certainly recommend it to others.
