Ayrshire offers a good spread of campsites from the sandy bays of the north coast to the quieter countryside of Carrick in the south. Many sites provide full hook-ups, hardstanding pitches and modern shower blocks suitable for both campervans and motorhomes. Coastal parks often include direct beach access, while inland sites sit among farmland with generous spacing between pitches. Several Ayrshire sites stay open year-round, making off-season touring a realistic option.
Ayrshire's road network centres on the A77, which runs from Glasgow through Kilmarnock and down the coast to Stranraer. There are no toll roads in the region. Speed limits for motorhomes under 3.5 tonnes match standard car limits — 60 mph on single carriageways and 70 mph on dual carriageways — but vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are restricted to 50 mph and 60 mph respectively. The A77 is largely single carriageway south of Ayr, so overtaking opportunities can be limited. Lay-bys and rest areas are well spaced along the coastal stretch. Narrower B-roads inland through the Carrick Hills require extra care with larger vehicles.

Lovely experience and fantastic van. Clean and worked very well. Leonardo and Eleanora were very friendly and helpful. One small feedback is the fridge did not work very well but otherwise its a great van.
