What you need to know about roads and motorways in Conwy

The A55 expressway runs along the North Wales coast through Conwy, connecting Holyhead to Chester and providing fast, toll-free access for motorhomes and campervans. Speed limits on dual carriageways are typically 60 mph for vehicles over 3.05 tonnes. The Conwy Tunnel on the A55 has a height restriction of 4.65 metres, so check your vehicle dimensions before travelling. Inland roads through the Conwy Valley and into Snowdonia are mostly single carriageway with passing places, so take your time and use designated laybys to let traffic pass.
