Manchester's iconic Beetham Tower rises 169 metres above the city, making it the tallest building in the UK outside London when it was completed in 2006. This former industrial powerhouse has reinvented itself as a cultural capital, home to the Science and Industry Museum, which occupies the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station. You can wander through the Northern Quarter's independent shops and street art, catch a performance at the Royal Exchange Theatre housed in a striking glass-and-steel module, or explore the Imperial War Museum North designed by Daniel Libeskind on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal. The city's sporting heritage is legendary — the National Football Museum at Urbis showcases the beautiful game's history, while Old Trafford and the Etihad Stadium draw fans from across the globe. For a change of scenery, the Peak District National Park begins just 40 km to the south-east, and the historic city of Chester sits roughly 65 km to the south-west, both easily reached by road. Manchester's surrounding landscape of rolling hills and open moorland makes it a brilliant base for exploring the north of England by campervan or motorhome. With Yescapa, you hire directly from local owners who know the area, so you can pick up your campervan and set off with insider tips on the best routes and overnight spots.
Manchester comes alive in summer, when events like the Manchester International Festival in July fill the city with theatre, music and art. Autumn brings the Manchester Food and Drink Festival in October, a treat for anyone touring by campervan. Booking a motorhome through Yescapa during spring or early autumn often means more choice from local owners and competitive hire prices, as demand is lighter than in peak summer. Whenever you visit, Manchester's year-round cultural calendar means there is always something worth stopping for.

Travel 250 km south from Manchester through the Cotswolds' honey-coloured villages. Visit Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold, pausing at Stratford-upon-Avon en route. Motorhome-friendly parking is available in most market towns. Five to eight days lets you enjoy the countryside without rushing.
A short 56 km drive west from Manchester brings you to Liverpool's waterfront. Explore the Royal Albert Dock and the Beatles Story museum. Campervan parking is easy to find near the city centre. Two to four days gives you time to enjoy both cities' music and food scenes.
Just 40 km south-east of Manchester, the Peak District offers dramatic moorland and limestone dales. Walk through Castleton's caverns and visit the spa town of Buxton. Several campsites welcome campervans with electric hook-ups. Two to four days is ideal for hiking and scenic drives.

The countryside surrounding Manchester offers a fine selection of campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. You will find sites with electric hook-ups, hardstanding pitches, shower blocks and waste disposal points within easy reach of the city. From the rolling farmland of Lancashire to the edges of the Peak District, these sites put you close to nature while keeping Manchester's attractions a short drive away.
Manchester's city centre has height-restricted multi-storey car parks, so larger motorhomes and campervans should use Park and Ride facilities on the Metrolink network. These offer spacious bays and direct tram links into the centre. Overnight parking in the city is generally not permitted without prior arrangement, so plan to return to a campsite for the evening.
Esperienza positiva
Beyond happy with the whole experience. The motorhome was very comfy and had everything we needed for our little girls camping trip. More importantly the owners were extremely friendly and beyond helpful at all times with the vehicle, the routes, the airport pickups and dropp offs and many many more things! All and all very happy with this experience!
The experience was seemles from start to finish. Handover was very straightforward with all the major information required exchanged. Fabian the owner remained available during the trip for any issues that may arise. The vehicle was as advertised and in very good condition. Very nice camping caravan, equipped with everything that you could need. The return process was straightforward when returning vehicle. Also my car was kept securley stored at the location for arrival and drop off. Overall very good experience and i would highly recommend and use again in the future.
We really enjoyed our travels around Brittany in Clarisse's camper van. It was comfortable and easy to drive and had everything we needed for our holiday. Clarisse explained everything clearly to us before we set off.
