The Hadrian's Wall Trail

300 km 5–8 days

Follow the line of Hadrian's Wall from Carlisle eastward through Brampton and Birdoswald Roman Fort, then return via the Eden Valley. At around 300 km, this route blends Roman history with rolling Cumbria countryside. Motorhomes are welcome at several sites near the wall.

The Cumbrian Coast Road

350 km 5–8 days

Travel 350 km from Carlisle south along the coast through Maryport, Whitehaven, and Ravenglass before reaching Barrow-in-Furness. St Bees Head offers superb seabird colonies, and the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway is a memorable stop. Coastal campsites welcome both campervans and motorhomes.

The Grand Cumbria Circuit

A 500 km loop covering the best of Cumbria, from Penrith through Ullswater, over Kirkstone Pass to Ambleside, west to Wasdale, north to Cockermouth, and back via Keswick. You will pass England's deepest lake, Wastwater, and its highest peak, Scafell Pike. Ideal for a longer motorhome adventure.

What you need to know about roads and motorways in Cumbria

Cumbria is served by the M6 motorway, which runs north–south through the eastern side of the region. There are no toll roads in Cumbria, so you can travel freely. Speed limits for motorhomes over 3.05 tonnes are 50 mph on single carriageways and 60 mph on dual carriageways. Many of Cumbria's most scenic routes follow A-roads and narrow passes such as Hardknott Pass and Wrynose Pass, which can be challenging for larger vehicles. Check your motorhome dimensions before tackling these routes, and consider the wider A66 or A591 as alternatives.

The experience was seemles from start to finish. Handover was very straightforward with all the major information required exchanged. Fabian the owner remained available during the trip for any issues that may arise. The vehicle was as advertised and in very good condition. Very nice camping caravan, equipped with everything that you could need. The return process was straightforward when returning vehicle. Also my car was kept securley stored at the location for arrival and drop off. Overall very good experience and i would highly recommend and use again in the future.
