Luton Airport sits just 51 km north of central London, yet it serves as a gateway to some of England's most rewarding countryside. The airport itself is located near the town of Luton in Bedfordshire, where the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty begins its gentle chalk escarpments. Wardown House, Museum and Gallery showcases local history and decorative arts beside a peaceful park, while the nearby Stockwood Discovery Centre houses the Mossman Collection of horse-drawn carriages. Whipsnade Zoo, operated by the Zoological Society of London, lies just 11 km to the south-west, and the medieval market town of St Albans is only 19 km to the south-east, home to the magnificent St Albans Cathedral. The landscape around Luton is ideal for touring — rolling hills, quiet B-roads and well-maintained dual carriageways connect you to the Cotswolds, Cambridge and the Norfolk coast without battling London traffic. Hiring a campervan or motorhome through Yescapa means you can collect your vehicle from a local owner close to the airport, skip the queues of traditional hire depots and start your adventure within minutes of landing. With peer-to-peer options ranging from compact campervans to fully equipped family motorhomes, you can tailor your trip to suit your group and your budget right from the doorstep of Bedfordshire.
Luton Airport is busiest from June to September, when families head out on summer road trips across England. If you plan to visit during the St Albans Beer Festival in late September or the Dunstable Downs Kite Festival in July, book your campervan early through Yescapa to secure the best peer-to-peer rates. Spring and autumn bring quieter roads through the Chiltern Hills and more availability at local campsites, making them excellent months for a motorhome tour. Winter departures from Luton suit city breaks to Cambridge or Oxford, where you can park up and explore on foot.

Just 19 km south-east, St Albans rewards a short campervan trip. Explore St Albans Cathedral, dating from Norman times, and the remains of Roman Verulamium in the adjacent park. Overnight parking is available at Sopwell House grounds, and the compact city centre is easy to navigate on foot.
Head 80 km north-east from Luton Airport to the university city of Cambridge. Punt along the River Cam past King's College Chapel, then visit the Fitzwilliam Museum. Campervan-friendly parking is available at Cambridge Park & Ride sites on the city outskirts, keeping your journey stress-free.
Drive 105 km west to reach the Cotswolds, passing through rolling limestone villages. Stop at Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold before overnighting near Chipping Norton. Several motorhome-friendly campsites dot the area, and the narrow lanes reward a slower pace of travel.
A 145 km drive north-east brings you to the Norfolk Coast AONB. Visit Holkham Beach and the seal colony at Blakeney Point, then follow the coast road to Cromer. Campsites with full hook-ups line this stretch, making it a comfortable motorhome route with plenty of fresh seafood stops.

Several nearby options cater to larger vehicles, and overnight stays are permitted at designated sites. Always check height barriers before entering any multi-storey facility, and consider using a dedicated motorhome stopover for longer stays.
We had a great holiday in our Elddis CV40 campervan. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Absolutely no hiccups or problems. Everything was easy to navigate and use and all we asked for was provided for. Thank you Alexander and your team, we had a superb time. Very comfortable!
We had a great three-day rental experience. Vincenzo was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and helpful throughout the trip. He was always available to recommend good places to park for the night and even sent us pins for places worth checking out, which made things really easy. The van is definitely a little well-loved, but it runs great and has and did everything we needed. It even gave me a chance to brush up on my rusty stick-shift driving skills! We’d rented a camper van before, and there’s something really cool about being able to open everything up at night, park in the right spot, and just enjoy the surroundings. Overall, it was a really fun experience, and Vincenzo made the whole thing especially easy.
It was a great experience and an easy and uncomplicated rental. We booked the pick up and drop of at the airport wich was also perfect. I can only recommend the owner and thank him for a great holiday experience.
La location s'est très bien passée. Florent nous a bien tout montré et expliqué et son véhicule est super. Très bien équipé, l'espace est optimisé. Nous avons passé un super séjour !
We had the most wonderful time in this charming van. Ana and Jaume were super caring and attentive, and the motorhome was an absolute joy. 2 lovely weeks and we were reluctant to give it back. Thank you Ana and Jaume for your patience and kindness, and for facilitating a magical family holiday full of memories!
The owner was very helpful and quick to reply. The van worked perfectly and was very spacious. highly recommend booking :)
