Humberside stretches across both banks of the Humber Estuary, where the iconic Humber Bridge — once the world's longest single-span suspension bridge at 2,220 metres — connects the historic cities of Hull and Grimsby. This region blends a rich maritime heritage with wide-open landscapes, from the chalk cliffs of Flamborough Head to the peaceful waters of the Yorkshire Wolds. The distance from Bridlington on the coast to Scunthorpe inland is roughly 65 miles, while Hull to Cleethorpes along the south bank covers around 30 miles, making Humberside wonderfully compact for touring. You can explore the award-winning Spurn Point nature reserve, wander the cobbled streets of Beverley with its magnificent Minster, or follow the Holderness coastline where dramatic erosion shapes the landscape year by year. Inland, the rolling chalk hills of the Yorkshire Wolds offer quiet lanes ideal for campervans, with gentle gradients and plenty of farm shops along the way. The region's flat Lincolnshire marshes on the south bank are equally welcoming for larger motorhome travel, with wide roads and open horizons. With Yescapa, you can hire a campervan directly from local owners across Humberside, choosing from a range of vehicles to suit your trip — whether you want a compact van for coastal exploring or a fully equipped motorhome for a family holiday by the estuary.
Humberside is a rewarding destination from spring right through to autumn. May and June bring long daylight hours and wildflower displays along the Holderness coast, while the Beverley Folk Festival each June fills the town with live music and street performances. Summer is the busiest period, so booking your campervan early on Yescapa helps you secure the best choice and peer-to-peer prices from local owners. September and October offer quieter roads across Humberside and golden light over the Wolds, perfect for a more relaxed motorhome tour. Coastal campsites remain open well into October, giving you plenty of flexibility.
To help you plan your trip, we have selected six unmissable road trips, suitable for all travelers.
Follow the Holderness coastline from Bridlington to Spurn Point, roughly 95 km of ever-changing shoreline. Stop at Hornsea Mere, the largest freshwater lake in Yorkshire, and pause at Withernsea for its lighthouse museum. A campervan suits the narrow coastal lanes perfectly.
Start in Beverley and wind through the Yorkshire Wolds for around 80 km, passing through Market Weighton and the quiet village of Huggate. The gentle chalk hills offer easy driving for any motorhome, with farm shops and country pubs dotted along the route.
Cross the Humber Bridge from Hull and loop through Barton-upon-Humber, Brigg, and Scunthorpe before returning via the M180. This 180 km circuit takes in Humberside's contrasting north and south banks, with marshland nature reserves and industrial heritage along the way.
Head south from Grimsby into the Lincolnshire Wolds, covering around 200 km through Louth, Horncastle, and the market town of Caistor. Campervan-friendly campsites are plentiful, and the rolling countryside offers a peaceful contrast to the Humberside coast.
A comprehensive 260 km tour linking Bridlington, Hull, the Humber Bridge, Cleethorpes, and the Yorkshire Wolds. Allow a week or more to enjoy Flamborough Head's seabird colonies, Hull's Museums Quarter, and the beaches at Cleethorpes in a motorhome or campervan.
Covering 320 km, this extended route connects Humberside with the wider East Yorkshire region, from Filey in the north through Scarborough, Bridlington, Beverley, Hull, and down to Spurn Point. Ideal for a longer campervan holiday with varied landscapes and plenty of campsite options.

Humberside offers a good spread of campsites, from coastal pitches with sea views to peaceful inland sites among the Wolds. Many sites provide electric hook-ups, hardstanding pitches, and modern shower blocks suitable for both campervans and motorhomes. Whether you prefer waking up to the sound of waves near Bridlington or settling into a quiet rural spot outside Beverley, you will find well-maintained facilities across the region.
Humberside is well served by the M180 and M62 motorways, both toll-free, giving you easy access from the national network. The Humber Bridge carries a toll — currently around £1.50 for standard vehicles, though larger motorhomes over 3,500 kg may pay a higher rate, so check before crossing. Speed limits for motorhomes over 3,050 kg are 60 mph on dual carriageways and 50 mph on single carriageways. Many rural roads across the Wolds and Holderness are single-track with passing places, so a campervan can be more practical than a large motorhome on these narrower lanes. Rest areas and laybys are well spaced along the A15 and A63 corridors.
Excellent guests! Everything went smoothly from start to finish. They took great care of the van, communication was easy, and they returned it on time. We highly recommend them to other hosts and would be happy to welcome them again anytime!

We love Pedro and his Flower Power Spaceship <3 from start to finish the experience was fantastic. When we collected the van from Pedro he took time to explain everything about it and passionately and then when we hit the road we fell more and more in love with it ----- it has everything we needed ! Super clean, super cool. "small country, small van" . . . . Pedro: kindest man with steeziest heart <3 obrigada X X X X
We rented the van for almost 3 weeks and we had a lovely time exploring Spain. The van has everything we needed and working properly. It’s spacious and comfortable for two to sleep. We were a bit worried about the heatwave the country was having and Jeremie managed to buy a double fan for us to sleep, which we highly appreciated. He is very friendly and good with communicating. The van runs smoothly, we just had a message on the screen to top up the oil (which was easy enough to stop at the petrol station and buy one - with Jeremie instructions we were able to do it). We really recommend renting his van for your adventure. ☺️
It was a genuine pleasure travelling in Álvaro’s campervan. Not only was it well maintained and fully equipped, but Álvaro also proved to be an exceptional host—friendly, responsive, and always willing to help. His support played a key role in ensuring that the trip went as smoothly as possible. I would recommend him without hesitation and sincerely hope to have the opportunity to repeat the experience. Thank you very much for everything!
