Rotherham's Minster of All Saints dates back to the 15th century and stands as one of the finest examples of Perpendicular Gothic architecture in South Yorkshire. Sitting on the banks of the River Don, the town blends industrial heritage with green spaces and cultural attractions worth discovering at your own pace. Clifton Park Museum tells the story of the area's iron and steel legacy through interactive exhibits, while Wentworth Woodhouse — just 8 km to the north — boasts the longest country house façade in Europe at 185 metres. Magna Science Adventure Centre, housed in a former steelworks, brings science to life across four themed pavilions of earth, air, fire and water. For a change of scenery, the Peak District National Park begins roughly 25 km to the west, offering dramatic moorland and quiet lanes ideal for a campervan adventure. Sheffield lies just 10 km to the south-west, making it easy to combine two destinations in a single trip. Rotherham also sits at the junction of the M1 and M18 motorways, so you can head in almost any direction without fuss. With Yescapa, you hire your motorhome directly from local owners across South Yorkshire, which means flexible pick-up points and genuine insider tips on where to park up and explore. Whether you are planning a weekend break or a longer tour through northern England, a campervan gives you the freedom to stop wherever the road takes you.
Rotherham comes alive in late July and August when the Rotherham Show fills Clifton Park with live music, fairground rides and local food stalls over a packed weekend. September brings Heritage Open Days, offering free access to Wentworth Woodhouse and other historic sites you would not normally see. Summer is the busiest period for campervan travel, so booking your vehicle on Yescapa a few weeks ahead locks in the best choice and competitive peer-to-peer pricing. Spring and autumn are quieter, with mild conditions for exploring the nearby Peak District by motorhome. Rotherham rewards a visit in every season.

Head 25 km west from Rotherham into the Peak District National Park. Stop at Chatsworth House for its grand gardens, then drive on to Bakewell for its famous pudding shops. The 80 km loop follows well-maintained A-roads with several campervan-friendly car parks along the way.

Rotherham sits between the South Yorkshire lowlands and the edge of the Peak District, so you can choose from rural retreats and well-equipped touring parks within easy reach. Most sites offer electric hook-ups, hardstanding pitches and modern shower blocks suitable for both campervans and motorhomes. Several are open year-round, giving you flexibility whatever the season.
Rotherham town centre has several pay-and-display car parks that can accommodate larger vehicles, though height barriers apply at some multi-storey facilities. For overnight stays, dedicated motorhome aires are limited, so plan ahead and consider nearby campsites with late-arrival options. Always check signage for any time or size restrictions before parking up.
Tuvimos una gran semana con la furgo, yo y dos hijos adultos. El dueño Samu fue de mucha ayuda por mensajes de texto para extra preguntas mientras estuvimos fuera, y nos llevó a la estación después de devolver la furgo
We had a lovely trip. The van has absolutely everything you need, and Pedro and Davids were so helpful and kind. Would recommend this van!
We had a great time with the van, the owner was very helpful and the van was perfect for our weekend around SW Biarritz.
Everything was as described by Giulio. He was very accommodating and ready for any question/doubt we had. It was our first experience with a motorhome and Giulio made sure we felt comfortable and safe trying his motorhome. Thank you Giulio and see you next time!
Grazie mille Lorenzo! Alla prossima :)
Excellent van! Comfortable. spacious and rives like a dream. Also the owner, Albert, is a pleasure to deal with. Incredible communicator, very helpful and honest!
