Daventry's BBC transmitting station at Borough Hill has broadcast radio signals across the nation since 1925, making it one of the oldest continuously used transmission sites in the world. This Northamptonshire market town sits at the geographical heart of England, offering a perfect base for exploring the Midlands by campervan or motorhome. The town's country park covers over 80 acres and features a reservoir, nature trails, and a café — ideal for stretching your legs before hitting the road. Nearby, you can visit the Daventry Museum on New Street, which tells the story of the town from its Saxon origins, or take a short walk to Holy Cross Church, a striking 19th-century landmark on the High Street. For canal enthusiasts, the Braunston Turn junction lies just 5 km to the south-east, where the Grand Union and Oxford canals meet. Warwick Castle is roughly 40 km to the south-west, while the university city of Northampton sits 21 km to the east, both making excellent day trips. The rolling countryside around Daventry is well suited to larger vehicles, with wide A-roads connecting you to the motorway network. Through Yescapa, you can hire directly from local owners in the area, which means you often collect your campervan right here in town rather than trekking to a distant depot. It is a practical, community-driven way to start your Midlands adventure from Daventry.
Daventry comes alive in June during the Daventry Food and Drink Festival, when local producers fill the High Street with tastings and live cookery demonstrations. September brings the Daventry Arts Festival, a week-long programme of music, theatre, and workshops across the town. Summer months are ideal for campervan touring, with longer daylight hours and reliable conditions for exploring the surrounding countryside. Book your motorhome through Yescapa ahead of peak season to take advantage of competitive peer-to-peer pricing from local owners. Spring and autumn are equally rewarding — quieter roads, easy campsite availability, and the Northamptonshire landscape at its most colourful.

Excellent van! Comfortable. spacious and rives like a dream. Also the owner, Albert, is a pleasure to deal with. Incredible communicator, very helpful and honest!
We travelled through Portugal for two weeks with our family of five. The camper has everything you need, and the air conditioning was a huge plus during the summer. Marcelino always responded quickly and was very helpful whenever we had a question. We had a fantastic trip and highly recommend this camper!
Great comms and super helpful. Van had everything we needed.
Kevin was so helpful helping John and I embark on our first campervan journey with our dogs travelling the length of France in his lovely converted Boxer van we have all come to love as ''Olive''. The first trip of many our experience was overwhelmingly good. So many amazing places to stop at and amazing views from Blue Lakes , Vast Gorges and amazing views from High Mountain Passes, Olive got us there ! Then when we were all parked up she offered us such a lovely comfy place to spend the night. With mosquito nets and an ambient cooling system in the cab, we took some fans to cope with the ' above 40 degree at times, temperatures but the dogs and us were absolutely fine.. Olive's solar powered appliances really do work all day and through the night. Kevin was an amazing host - even though we 'lost ' his fuel tank cap! Don't ask us how! Id thoroughly recommend Olive to anyone . She is a lovely van and Kevin a great host.
Amazing renters ) Happy vacation in Lanzerote and hopefully see you soon again )
Miguel was the perfect person to rent a camper van from. The van had everything you could wish for. He was kind, extremely helpful and the test drive I requested really assisted me. . All the paperwork and communication was highly efficient and very fair. No issues at all. As a single female in my 60s I could not recommend a better person.
