Newark-on-Trent's castle ruins have overlooked the River Trent since the 12th century, and it was here that King John died in 1216 after losing the Crown Jewels in The Wash. This market town in Nottinghamshire sits at the crossroads of the A1 and A46, making it a natural base for exploring the East Midlands by road. The National Civil War Centre tells the story of Newark's three sieges during the English Civil War, while the cobbled Market Place — one of the largest in England — hosts a bustling market four days a week. A short walk along the riverside brings you to the beautifully restored Newark Town Lock, and the nearby Sconce and Devon Park offers green space ideal for a morning stroll. Lincoln, with its magnificent cathedral, lies just 26 km to the north-east, and the legendary Sherwood Forest is roughly 32 km to the west. The flat terrain of the Trent Valley and well-maintained A-roads make this area particularly easy to navigate in a larger vehicle. Whether you arrive in a campervan or a motorhome, you will find the surrounding countryside welcoming and well connected. Through Yescapa, you can hire directly from local owners in the Newark-on-Trent area, which means personal tips on the best routes and a more flexible pick-up experience than traditional depots offer. It is a practical, friendly way to start your next road trip from the heart of England.
Newark-on-Trent comes alive in June during the Newark Festival, a weekend of live music and family entertainment in the castle grounds. The International Antiques and Collectors Fair, held several times a year at the Newark Showground, draws visitors from across Europe — check dates and book your campervan early for those weekends. Summer months offer the longest daylight hours for exploring the Trent Valley, while autumn brings quieter roads and golden colours along the river. With Yescapa, you benefit from peer-to-peer pricing that often stays competitive even in peak season, so hiring a motorhome in Newark-on-Trent need not stretch the budget.

Tuvimos una gran semana con la furgo, yo y dos hijos adultos. El dueño Samu fue de mucha ayuda por mensajes de texto para extra preguntas mientras estuvimos fuera, y nos llevó a la estación después de devolver la furgo
We had a lovely trip. The van has absolutely everything you need, and Pedro and Davids were so helpful and kind. Would recommend this van!
We had a great time with the van, the owner was very helpful and the van was perfect for our weekend around SW Biarritz.
Everything was as described by Giulio. He was very accommodating and ready for any question/doubt we had. It was our first experience with a motorhome and Giulio made sure we felt comfortable and safe trying his motorhome. Thank you Giulio and see you next time!
Grazie mille Lorenzo! Alla prossima :)
Excellent van! Comfortable. spacious and rives like a dream. Also the owner, Albert, is a pleasure to deal with. Incredible communicator, very helpful and honest!
