Sydney's iconic Opera House, with its sail-shaped roof shells, took 16 years to build and was finally completed in 1973 at a cost fourteen times the original estimate. Today the city sprawls around one of the world's largest natural harbours, offering a mix of coastal walks, cultural landmarks and easy escapes into the bush. Stroll across the Sydney Harbour Bridge or take the BridgeClimb for panoramic views, then head to the Art Gallery of New South Wales in The Domain to explore Australian and Indigenous art collections. Families and wildlife fans will enjoy Taronga Zoo, set on the harbour's northern shore and reachable by ferry from Circular Quay. For golden sand and surf, Bondi Beach sits just 8 km east of the city centre, while the Royal National Park — one of the oldest national parks in the world — begins only 36 km to the south. The Blue Mountains, 100 km west, reward you with dramatic sandstone cliffs and eucalyptus-scented valleys perfect for a day trip or longer adventure. Sydney's sprawling layout and surrounding coastline make it ideal for exploring by campervan or motorhome, letting you move at your own pace between harbour-side attractions and quieter coastal spots. Through Yescapa you can hire directly from local owners who know the best routes, overnight stops and scenic detours — a peer-to-peer approach that keeps things personal and often more affordable than traditional options.
Sydney enjoys warm weather from October through to April, making it a fantastic base for coastal road trips. January brings the Sydney Festival, a major arts and culture celebration across the city, while Vivid Sydney lights up the harbour with spectacular projections each May and June. Summer months (December to February) are the busiest, so booking your campervan early through Yescapa gives you the widest choice from local owners at competitive peer-to-peer prices. Autumn (March to May) offers comfortable driving temperatures and quieter campsites along the coast — ideal if you prefer a more relaxed pace.

Sydney and its surrounds offer a good range of campsites for both campervans and motorhomes, from beachside holiday parks with powered pitches and hot showers to bush campgrounds with basic amenities. Lakeside parks north of the city provide hook-ups, laundry facilities and barbecue areas, while national park campgrounds to the south suit travellers looking for a quieter, nature-focused stay. Booking ahead is recommended during the summer months to secure your preferred spot near Sydney.
Parking a larger vehicle in central Sydney requires some planning, as many inner-city car parks have height restrictions of around 2.1 m. Look for open-air car parks and designated larger-vehicle bays in suburban areas. Overnight parking on public streets is generally not permitted for campervans or motorhomes in most Sydney council areas, so plan to return to a campsite or holiday park for the night. Arriving early on weekdays helps you secure a suitable space near popular attractions.
great van a few interior problems but apart from that all good
check in took 1.40 hr! legible dirty outside with tape repairs to window and mirror paid for gas but when we got there found canister was empty and we had to replace ourselves
Everything was amazing
Great experience renting the Jimny. The owners were brilliant to deal with from start to finish, and the Jeep was in excellent condition. It was perfect for exploring the Algarve. Would definitely recommend and would happily rent from them again!
Clean, well-maintained vehicle that gave us so many great memories! We traveled to many places and drove around 900 km ourselves, and it handled everything flawlessly. Thanks to its size, parking was super easy, we could fit anywhere, and we were able to sleep in spots where a different kind of campervan wouldn't have worked. It is fully equipped with everything provided, even extra games for beach days! The bed and bedding were clean, and it has a really comfortable mattress. The owners were super nice and sweet. Everything went smoothly during both pickup and drop-off, and they were always there to help whenever we needed it, even when we got a bit lost! 😅 Plus point that they were super cool and easy to talk to. P.S. The AC works like a charm!
Sergey's van is great. Really spacious, easy to drive. We had a great trip. Sergey was really nice helpful and was on hand to help with any questions during the trip. He even gave us a lift to the train station in Ljubljana! Would 100% recommend.
