Parramatta's Old Government House, built in 1799, holds the distinction of being Australia's oldest surviving public building and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Sitting at the geographic heart of Greater Sydney, this city blends colonial heritage with a modern urban pulse. You can explore Elizabeth Farm, one of the country's earliest European homesteads, or wander through the lush grounds of Parramatta Park, which stretches along the banks of the Parramatta River. The Riverside Theatres complex offers a year-round programme of live performance, while the newly developed Parramatta Square precinct brings together dining, culture, and community spaces. For nature lovers, Lake Parramatta Reserve is a peaceful retreat just minutes from the centre, complete with bushwalking trails and a designated swimming area. The Blue Mountains sit roughly 65 km to the west, making for a spectacular day trip, and the beaches of Manly are about 30 km to the north-east. The city's position means you can head in almost any direction and find something worth seeing, from national parks to coastal walks. With Yescapa, you can hire a campervan or motorhome directly from a local owner in the area, giving you the flexibility to set your own pace and explore western Sydney and beyond on your own terms.
Parramatta enjoys warm, dry conditions from September through to April, making it an ideal base for campervan adventures. The Parramatta Lanes festival in October transforms the city's laneways with street food, live music, and art installations. Australia Day celebrations in January draw large crowds to Parramatta Park with fireworks and family events. Booking your motorhome through Yescapa during the cooler months of May to August can be a smart move, as you benefit from competitive peer-to-peer pricing and quieter campsite availability across the region. Plan ahead for the summer school holidays in December and January, when Parramatta is at its liveliest.

Parramatta sits inland, so most campsites nearby are set among bushland reserves and river valleys rather than on the coast. You will find sites suited to both campervans and motorhomes, with facilities ranging from basic unpowered pitches to full hook-ups, hot showers, laundry blocks, and dump points. Several parks within an hour's drive of Parramatta offer easy access to national parks and scenic trails.
Parramatta offers several options for parking larger vehicles, though spaces in the CBD can be limited during business hours. Overnight parking in public car parks is generally not permitted without specific signage allowing it, so always check local council notices. For longer stays, dedicated caravan-friendly areas on the outskirts are your best bet.
It was a pleasure dealimg with Alain. The Motorhome was in good condition and Alain was very helpful at pick up and drop off ensuring we knew how everything worked.
We had a great time in the motorhome. Jean Pierre was very friendly and professional. We were shown how everything works before setting off. We would definitely recommend hiring this vehicle. Jean Pierre only speaks French but with the aid of a translator app and his son it worked out absolutely fine. Thanks again Jean-Pierre.
Frederic was excellent. Easy to contact and helpful at all times. The whole experience was a joy.
Fantastic, we were welcomed and everything was fantastic.
We hired this camper Asier for our family holiday through Spain and France, what a great van it is with everything you need. Asier is very friendly and helpful even though there was a language barrier. We would definitely use again if we needed to.
Mario was very helpful and supported us with this new experience. The vehicle was basically brand new and while there were some minor problems with cupboard doors, it was a very well equipped and comfortable van for 2 adults and two children of 10 and 13 years old. Highly recommended!
