Head north from Noosa into the Cooloola section of the Great Sandy National Park, then return via Gympie and the Mary Valley. This 280 km route takes in the Noosa Everglades, coloured sands at Rainbow Beach, and heritage rail towns. A motorhome with good clearance is recommended for unsealed sections.
Drive north from Maroochydore along the Bruce Highway to Hervey Bay, gateway to Fraser Island, covering about 350 km. Stop at the Ginger Factory in Yandina and the historic town of Maryborough. Campervan-friendly parks line the route, with powered sites widely available.
This 500 km circuit links the Sunshine Coast to Rainbow Beach and Tin Can Bay via inland roads, with an optional beach driving section along the Cooloola Coast. The Sunshine Coast offers a strong mix of beachfront holiday parks, hinterland retreats, and bushland campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. Most coastal parks provide powered sites, dump points, laundry facilities, and modern amenity blocks. Inland, you will find quieter options near national parks and rainforest, often with generous pitch sizes for larger vehicles. Booking ahead during school holidays is a good idea, but midweek availability is generally excellent across the Sunshine Coast.
The Bruce Highway (M1) runs parallel to the Sunshine Coast and connects Brisbane to the region in about an hour. It is a toll-free motorway for most of its length through this section, though you should check for any variable speed zones near interchanges. Speed limits for motorhomes under 4.5 tonnes generally match standard car limits at 110 km/h on the motorway, while vehicles over 4.5 tonnes are restricted to 100 km/h. The Sunshine Motorway branches off the M1 and provides direct access to coastal towns like Maroochydore and Noosa. Rest areas with parking suitable for larger vehicles are well signposted along the Bruce Highway.

check in took 1.40 hr! legible dirty outside with tape repairs to window and mirror paid for gas but when we got there found canister was empty and we had to replace ourselves

Great experience renting the Jimny. The owners were brilliant to deal with from start to finish, and the Jeep was in excellent condition. It was perfect for exploring the Algarve. Would definitely recommend and would happily rent from them again!
Clean, well-maintained vehicle that gave us so many great memories! We traveled to many places and drove around 900 km ourselves, and it handled everything flawlessly. Thanks to its size, parking was super easy, we could fit anywhere, and we were able to sleep in spots where a different kind of campervan wouldn't have worked. It is fully equipped with everything provided, even extra games for beach days! The bed and bedding were clean, and it has a really comfortable mattress. The owners were super nice and sweet. Everything went smoothly during both pickup and drop-off, and they were always there to help whenever we needed it, even when we got a bit lost! 😅 Plus point that they were super cool and easy to talk to. P.S. The AC works like a charm!
Sergey's van is great. Really spacious, easy to drive. We had a great trip. Sergey was really nice helpful and was on hand to help with any questions during the trip. He even gave us a lift to the train station in Ljubljana! Would 100% recommend.
