The Gold Coast offers a wide selection of campsites spread from the beachfront to the hinterland hills. The M1 Pacific Motorway is the Gold Coast's main arterial route, running north–south and connecting Brisbane to the region without tolls. Speed limits for motorhomes over 4.5 tonnes are generally capped at 100 km/h on motorways, while standard campervans follow regular car limits. The M1 features well-signed rest areas with parking bays suitable for larger vehicles, and fuel stops are frequent along the corridor. Local roads through the hinterland, such as the Springbrook and Tamborine Mountain routes, include winding sections with occasional steep grades — take your time and use lower gears on descents. No vignette or toll is required on Gold Coast roads themselves.
We hired Trina for 5 nights earlier this July. My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time on the island. Jandro was incredibly helpful, always on hand before and during the trip to answer any questions which really helped us navigate the island and enjoy our trip. The vehicle was fantastic, an incredible experience to drive. All the amenities were brilliant as well. I would highly recommend using Jandro and one of his vans for a fantastic Mallorca experience!
Communication with the owner was great, van was immaculate, heaps of choice, love the peer to peer concept. Easy to add an extra driver and ID checks were very thorough but straightforward. Changing dates wasn't so easy, the owner was great, but the process at the back end took some manual effort. Teething problems, not a big deal. Main area that needs improving (for me anyway) is the deposit. There was a single line in a table stating Deposit: cash or transfer, that I hadn't seen. The owner asked for the cash or a transfer when we were at the car, which he explained was normal process, but Yescapa could have explained beforehand. I transferred €2000 directly to the owner, which didn't feel comfortable. I had expected this would all be done via Yescapa. I ended up losing €45 in exchange rate variations + fees as well, the owner's bank had challenges which meant it to 5 days to get a lot of cash back. It was lucky we had that amount at hand. I would use Yescapa again. I hope they can tidy up and improve the processes though.
