The West Midlands is home to over 500 miles of canal network, more than Venice, making it one of the most rewarding regions in England to explore by water and by road. Birmingham, the region's largest city, sits at the heart of a web of motorways connecting you to Coventry (just 30 miles east), Wolverhampton, and the rolling countryside of Warwickshire and Staffordshire beyond. You can visit the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley for a vivid step back into industrial heritage, wander the medieval streets around Coventry Cathedral, or spend a morning at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens before heading out to the Lickey Hills Country Park for panoramic views. The region blends urban culture with surprisingly green landscapes — Sutton Park, one of the largest urban parks in Europe, covers over 2,400 acres of heathland and woodland. From Birmingham to Stratford-upon-Avon is roughly 37 miles, opening up Shakespeare country for easy day trips. Whether you prefer a compact campervan for city-fringe touring or a larger motorhome for extended stays in the surrounding countryside, Yescapa connects you directly with local owners across the West Midlands who know the area well. Hiring peer-to-peer means a wider choice of vehicles at varied price points, with personal tips often included. The West Midlands rewards curiosity — every canal towpath, country lane, and market town has its own story to share.
The West Midlands is enjoyable year-round, though May to September offers the longest days and warmest weather for campervan touring. In October, the region hosts the prestigious Birmingham International Dance Festival, while the Frankfurt Christmas Market transforms the city centre each November and December — one of the largest outdoor Christmas markets in the UK. Book early for summer months when campsite pitches fill quickly. Shoulder seasons like April and early October bring quieter roads and lower hire costs. With Yescapa, peer-to-peer pricing across the West Midlands often undercuts traditional hire, especially outside peak weeks.

The West Midlands and its surrounding countryside offer a good range of campsites for both campervans and motorhomes. You can find pitches with electric hook-ups, modern shower blocks, and waste disposal points close to the region's main cities, as well as quieter rural sites on the edges of Cannock Chase and the Warwickshire countryside. Many sites welcome short overnight stays, making them handy bases for exploring the West Midlands without long drives between stops.
The West Midlands sits at the junction of several major motorways, including the M6, M5, and M42, giving you quick access to the rest of England. Most motorways in the region are toll-free, though the M6 Toll north of Birmingham charges per vehicle — larger motorhomes pay a higher rate, so check pricing before setting off. Speed limits for vehicles over 3.05 tonnes are 60 mph on motorways and 50 mph on single carriageways. The Spaghetti Junction interchange (Gravelly Hill) can feel busy, but signage is clear. Service stations with dedicated motorhome parking are available along the M5 and M42 corridors.
We had an amazing trip! Rafaela and Carina were so kind, and we couldn’t recommend their van enough 🤩🙏🏼 The van had everything we needed for a proper “van life” experience, and you can also stay at campsites whenever you want!
We hired a motorhome from Cemil for a week to travel around Switzerland. We also visited France, Germany and Liechtenstein. Before the trip Cemil was helpful and responded to questions promptly. On the day of pick up he met us at the train station and the handover was smooth and quick. At the end if the trip it was also a very smooth transition and Cemil kindly drove us back to the airport. The van was great - very easy to drive and everything worked perfectly. All tolls and insurance were covered. We were very happy with the motorhome and would highly recommend renting from Cemil.
We had a great experience hiring this motorhome. Everything went smoothly and we had absolutely zero issues throughout our trip. Fernando kept us informed about everything from the beginning and was very friendly and helpful. He was also very flexible with both the pickup and drop-off times, which made everything much easier. The location is perfect, especially if you're arriving via Prague Airport. We travelled all the way to Hungary and back to Poland, staying at several off-grid locations along the way. We had an amazing time at Lake Balaton in Hungary and also loved our stay at the Pod Opaleńcem campsite in Świeradów-Zdrój, Poland. We would definitely recommend this motorhome hire and would happily rent from Fernando again!
Had a great time renting Dario's van. The pick-up was smooth and we were off and driving very quickly. Would highly recommend!
We went for a 7 days trip with 2 of my friends. It was an amazing time. Camper was really great - in a good condition, clean, comfortable. We did 1000km without any problems. I can recommend this car and Alvaro as a very nice owner.
