Why choose Evesham for your road trip

Evesham — a city worth exploring

Evesham's Abbey Park sits on the site of a Benedictine monastery founded in 714 AD, with its 16th-century bell tower still standing as one of the finest in England. Nestled in the Vale of Evesham along the River Avon, this Worcestershire market town is surrounded by some of the most productive fruit-growing land in the country. You can wander through Almonry Heritage Centre to trace centuries of local history, or follow the riverside walk past Abbey Gardens and Workman Bridge. The town's High Street features the half-timbered Booth Hall, a medieval merchant's house that now hosts community events. For a wider adventure, Bredon Hill rises just 8 km to the south-west, offering panoramic views across the vale, while Stratford-upon-Avon lies only 24 km to the north-east, making it an easy day trip. The surrounding countryside is ideal for touring by campervan, with quiet lanes winding through orchards and market gardens. Evesham also sits close to the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, giving you access to rolling hills and honey-coloured villages without the congestion of larger tourist hubs. With Yescapa, you can hire a motorhome or campervan directly from a local owner, which means you get personal tips on the best routes and seasonal produce stops that only residents know about. It is a relaxed, rewarding base for exploring the heart of England at your own pace.

Best time to visit

Evesham comes alive during the Asparagus Festival each May, celebrating the vale's famous crop with tastings, farm tours, and a fun run. The Evesham River Festival in July brings boat races and live music along the Avon. Summer is the busiest season, so booking your campervan through Yescapa early gives you access to competitive peer-to-peer pricing and a wider choice of vehicles. Spring and autumn are excellent for quieter campsite availability and scenic drives through blossom-filled or golden orchards. Even winter has its charm, with Evesham's Christmas market and cosy riverside walks making a short motorhome break well worthwhile.

We had an amazing trip! Rafaela and Carina were so kind, and we couldn’t recommend their van enough 🤩🙏🏼 The van had everything we needed for a proper “van life” experience, and you can also stay at campsites whenever you want!

We hired a motorhome from Cemil for a week to travel around Switzerland. We also visited France, Germany and Liechtenstein. Before the trip Cemil was helpful and responded to questions promptly. On the day of pick up he met us at the train station and the handover was smooth and quick. At the end if the trip it was also a very smooth transition and Cemil kindly drove us back to the airport. The van was great - very easy to drive and everything worked perfectly. All tolls and insurance were covered. We were very happy with the motorhome and would highly recommend renting from Cemil.
