Perth Airport sits at the gateway to Western Australia, a region where the Indian Ocean coastline stretches over 12,500 kilometres and the Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park draws visitors to its thousands of limestone pillars. From the airport, you can reach the Swan Valley wine region in just 25 minutes, while the historic port town of Fremantle is roughly 40 kilometres to the south-west. Head north and within 200 kilometres you reach Lancelin's towering sand dunes, or drive 280 kilometres south-east to find the ancient granite formations of Wave Rock near Hyden. The landscape around Perth is remarkably varied — from the jarrah forests of the Darling Range to the turquoise shallows of Rottnest Island, where quokkas roam freely. Campervans handle the coastal roads with ease, and a motorhome gives you the space to explore longer routes into the Avon Valley or down to the Margaret River region. Whether you fancy a weekend loop through wildflower country or a multi-week adventure along the Coral Coast, hiring a campervan through Yescapa connects you directly with local owners who know these roads well. With vehicles based across the Perth metropolitan area, you can collect your hire and be on the open road within the hour.
September to November is a brilliant time to hire a campervan near Perth Airport, when wildflower season transforms the bushland north of Perth into carpets of colour — the Kings Park Festival in September celebrates this spectacle each year. Summer, from December to February, is ideal for coastal drives and beach camping along the Turquoise Coast. Autumn brings the Fremantle Festival in November and comfortable temperatures for inland touring. With Yescapa's peer-to-peer model, you can often find better rates during quieter months like May to August, when Perth enjoys mild, green conditions perfect for forest trails and whale watching off the south-west coast. Book early for the peak summer period to secure the best choice of campervans and motorhomes.
To help you plan your trip, we have selected six unmissable road trips, suitable for all travelers.
Start near Perth Airport and wind through the Swan Valley's vineyards before climbing into the Avon Valley. Pass through Toodyay and Northam, then loop back via Mundaring Weir. Around 250 km of easy driving, ideal for a campervan, with farm stays and bush campsites along the way.
Head north from Perth to Lancelin's sand dunes, then on to Cervantes and the Pinnacles in Nambung National Park. This 280 km route hugs the Indian Ocean, with well-equipped campsite stops and seafood shacks. A great short break in a campervan or motorhome.
Drive south from Perth Airport through Bunbury to Margaret River, taking in Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin lighthouses. Around 450 km return, with caves, surf beaches, and forest walks. Motorhome-friendly campsites are plentiful throughout the region.
Follow the Midlands Road north through Moora and Dalwallinu during spring to witness Western Australia's famous wildflower displays. This 400 km route passes through rolling farmland and nature reserves, with basic bush camping and caravan parks suited to all vehicle sizes.
From Perth, travel through Collie and into the tall timber country of Pemberton and the Valley of the Giants near Walpole. Continue along the Rainbow Coast to Albany. At 600 km one way, this route rewards with ancient karri forests and dramatic southern coastline.

The Perth region offers a wide range of campsites, from beachfront parks along the Indian Ocean to peaceful bush retreats in the Darling Range. Many sites provide powered pitches, dump points, and hot showers suitable for both campervans and motorhomes. You will find well-maintained facilities whether you prefer a coastal setting, a riverside spot in the Swan Valley, or a forest clearing further south.
Western Australia's highways near Perth are toll-free, so you can travel without worrying about extra charges. The speed limit on major highways such as the Mitchell Freeway and Kwinana Freeway is typically 100 km/h, though motorhomes over 4.5 tonnes may be restricted to lower limits on certain roads. The Great Eastern Highway and Brand Highway are well-maintained dual carriageways with regular rest stops and fuel stations. Keep in mind that distances between towns increase significantly once you head north or east of Perth, so plan fuel stops carefully. Road trains operate on some regional highways, so allow plenty of room when overtaking.
Tuvimos una gran semana con la furgo, yo y dos hijos adultos. El dueño Samu fue de mucha ayuda por mensajes de texto para extra preguntas mientras estuvimos fuera, y nos llevó a la estación después de devolver la furgo
We had a lovely trip. The van has absolutely everything you need, and Pedro and Davids were so helpful and kind. Would recommend this van!
We had a great time with the van, the owner was very helpful and the van was perfect for our weekend around SW Biarritz.
Everything was as described by Giulio. He was very accommodating and ready for any question/doubt we had. It was our first experience with a motorhome and Giulio made sure we felt comfortable and safe trying his motorhome. Thank you Giulio and see you next time!
Grazie mille Lorenzo! Alla prossima :)
Excellent van! Comfortable. spacious and rives like a dream. Also the owner, Albert, is a pleasure to deal with. Incredible communicator, very helpful and honest!
