Joondalup sits just 26 km north of Perth's CBD, yet it feels like a destination in its own right. The city grew around Lake Joondalup, a seasonal wetland stretching over 3 km that supports more than 100 bird species within Yellagonga Regional Park. Stroll through Neil Hawkins Park on the lake's western shore, where boardwalks wind through paperbark woodland, or head 8 km west to Burns Beach, where limestone cliffs frame a sheltered cove popular with families. Hillarys Boat Harbour, roughly 10 km to the south, is home to The Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA), where you can walk through an underwater tunnel surrounded by sharks and rays. For a change of pace, Lakeside Joondalup Shopping City offers over 300 stores and eateries, while Joondalup Performing Arts Centre hosts live theatre and music throughout the year. The Sunset Coast Tourist Drive connects the city's beaches northward to Two Rocks, about 45 km away, making it a scenic route well suited to campervans. Fremantle is roughly 40 km to the south, an easy day trip for markets and maritime history. Hiring a motorhome through Yescapa means you can collect your vehicle from a local owner in the northern suburbs, skip the city-centre traffic, and start exploring the coast or bushland straight away. With a campervan as your base, Joondalup becomes the perfect launchpad for Western Australia's turquoise coastline.
Joondalup enjoys warm, dry summers and mild winters, so every season has something to offer. The Joondalup Festival, usually held each March, fills the city centre with live music, street performers, and food stalls — a great weekend to be parked up nearby. From September to November, wildflower season transforms bushland reserves into carpets of colour, ideal for leisurely campervan drives along the coast. Summer (December to February) is peak season for beach camping, so booking your Yescapa hire early is a smart move. Autumn and winter bring quieter campsites and comfortable driving temperatures around Joondalup.

The Joondalup area offers a good mix of coastal and bushland camping options for both campervans and motorhomes. Most sites along the northern suburbs provide powered pitches, dump points, and modern amenity blocks with showers and laundry facilities. Whether you prefer waking up near the ocean or beside native bushland, you will find well-maintained parks within a short drive of Joondalup's centre.
Joondalup offers several options for parking larger vehicles during the day. The city centre has multi-storey car parks, though height restrictions may apply to motorhomes, so check clearance signs before entering. Overnight parking in public car parks is not permitted without council approval, so plan to use a campsite or caravan park for sleeping.
Everyting more than perfect, happy to welcome you again!
Amazing renters, welcome again )
We rented this camper van for a two-week trip through the Alps and southern france, it was fantastic from start to finish. The van was reliable and easy to drive, even on the steep, winding alpine mountain roads. It also performed exceptionally well on the motorways, with cruise control making the longer journeys comfortable and stress-free. The layout was perfect for two people. The rear seating folds out to a bed and pop-top roof bed provided plenty of space and privacy when sleeping. During the day, the seating area and well-equipped kitchen made the van feel comfortable and practical, while the retractable awning was great for relaxing outside on warm evenings. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming. On arrival, they took the time to explain all the features of the van and made sure we were comfortable before setting off. The return process was just as easy and straightforward. Overall, this is a fantastic camper van owned by a lovely family. We had an amazing trip and would highly recommend both the van and its owners to anyone looking for a memorable campervan adventure. We would happily rent from them again in the future.
Incredibly easy- Hector was there to talk us through everything. He was happy to answer all of our questions and gave us excellent practical advice. We felt fully supported abd it gave us a real confidence boost when we took control of the camper. We had to contact Hector during out trip sbout the van and he was on hand and easy to engage with. Ditto with our drop off. We loved using the camper: it was confortable and easily accommodated our family of 5 (including two teenagers!). It was a wonderful way to explore the Basque Country and we would definitely be up for doing it again.
Tuvimos una gran semana con la furgo, yo y dos hijos adultos. El dueño Samu fue de mucha ayuda por mensajes de texto para extra preguntas mientras estuvimos fuera, y nos llevó a la estación después de devolver la furgo
We had a lovely trip. The van has absolutely everything you need, and Pedro and Davids were so helpful and kind. Would recommend this van!
