Granada's Alhambra palace complex welcomes over 2.6 million visitors each year, making it Spain's most-visited monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. Nestled at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the city sits at around 738 metres above sea level, giving it a distinctive climate and dramatic backdrop unlike any other Andalusian destination. Wander through the narrow lanes of the Albaicín quarter, where whitewashed houses and carmenes (walled gardens) date back to the Moorish era. The Cathedral of Granada, completed in 1561, stands as one of Spain's finest Renaissance churches, while the adjacent Capilla Real houses the tombs of Ferdinand and Isabella. For science and family fun, the Parque de las Ciencias offers interactive exhibits and a planetarium just south of the centre. Málaga lies roughly 125 km to the west along the A-92 motorway, and the Mediterranean beaches near Salobreña are only 68 km south, making Granada an ideal base for day trips by campervan. The roads through the Alpujarras villages wind through terraced hillsides and chestnut forests — a rewarding drive for those comfortable with mountain routes. With Yescapa, you hire your motorhome or campervan directly from local owners in and around Granada, which means flexible pick-up points and genuine tips on where to park, eat, and explore. It is a practical, personal way to discover southern Spain at your own pace.
Granada rewards visitors year-round. Spring brings the Cruces de Mayo festival each May, when the city's squares burst with floral displays and live music. Autumn is equally appealing, with the Festival Internacional de Jazz de Granada running in November. Summer is the busiest season for campervan travel, so booking your hire on Yescapa early helps you secure the best choice from local owners. Winter opens up skiing on the Sierra Nevada slopes, just 32 km from the city centre — a rare chance to combine mountain sport with Andalusian culture. Campsite availability is generally good outside July and August, and Granada's compact layout makes parking straightforward.

Granada's campsite options sit mainly in the surrounding foothills and Sierra Nevada valleys, offering pitches for both campervans and motorhomes with electrical hook-ups, fresh water, and waste disposal. Most sites provide showers, toilets, and Wi-Fi, and several are open year-round thanks to Granada's mild winters. Whether you prefer a mountain setting near ski slopes or a quieter spot in the Vega farmlands, you will find well-equipped facilities within a short drive of the city centre.
Parking a motorhome or campervan in Granada requires a little planning, as the historic centre has narrow streets and restricted-access zones (ZBE). Larger vehicles should avoid the Albaicín and Sacromonte areas entirely. Designated parking areas on the city's outskirts offer safer, more spacious options, and local bus routes connect them to the centre within minutes. Overnight parking in public streets is permitted unless signposted otherwise, but using a dedicated motorhome area is the most comfortable choice.
Esperienza positiva
Beyond happy with the whole experience. The motorhome was very comfy and had everything we needed for our little girls camping trip. More importantly the owners were extremely friendly and beyond helpful at all times with the vehicle, the routes, the airport pickups and dropp offs and many many more things! All and all very happy with this experience!

Fabian the owner remained available during the trip for any issues that may arise. The vehicle was as advertised and in very good condition. Very nice camping caravan, equipped with everything that you could need. The return process was straightforward when returning vehicle. Also my car was kept securley stored at the location for arrival and drop off. Overall very good experience and i would highly recommend and use again in the future.
We really enjoyed our travels around Brittany in Clarisse's camper van. It was comfortable and easy to drive and had everything we needed for our holiday. Clarisse explained everything clearly to us before we set off.
