Cádiz sits on a narrow peninsula jutting into the Atlantic, making it one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in western Europe, with origins dating back over 3,000 years to its founding by the Phoenicians. The Cathedral of Cádiz, with its striking golden dome visible from across the bay, took 116 years to complete and blends Baroque and Neoclassical styles. Wander through the Barrio del Pópulo, the medieval heart of the old town, or climb the Torre Tavira to peer through its camera obscura for a live panoramic view of the rooftops. The Museo de Cádiz houses fine art and archaeological treasures, including Phoenician sarcophagi, while Playa de la Caleta offers a sheltered city beach framed by two historic castles. Seville lies roughly 125 km to the north-east, and the white hilltop town of Vejer de la Frontera is just 60 km south-east along the coast road, giving you plenty of scope for day trips. The peninsula layout means roads in and out of the city can be narrow, so a campervan is often easier to manoeuvre than a larger vehicle. With Yescapa, you hire directly from local owners across the Cádiz area, which means you can collect a motorhome or campervan close to where you want to start exploring — no need to trek to a distant depot. It is a practical, peer-to-peer way to hit the road and discover Andalusia at your own pace.
Cádiz is wonderful year-round, though each season has its own appeal. February brings the famous Carnaval de Cádiz, one of Spain's liveliest street festivals, filling the old town with music and colour for over two weeks. Summer is ideal for beach days and coastal campervan touring, while autumn offers warm temperatures and quieter campsites. Booking a motorhome through Yescapa during spring or early autumn often means more choice from local owners and flexible pricing. Whenever you visit Cádiz, reserve your pitch early in peak months to secure a spot near the coast.
Cádiz is the perfect base for exploring the region by motorhome or campervan. Here are our 6 must-see getaways
Head 60 km south-east from Cádiz along the A-48 to the whitewashed hilltop town of Vejer de la Frontera. Stop at Conil de la Frontera for its long sandy beaches and fresh tuna restaurants. In Vejer, explore the Moorish castle and the cobbled Plaza de España. Campervan parking is available on the edge of town.
Drive 35 km north-east from Cádiz to Jerez de la Frontera, the sherry capital of the world. Visit the Alcázar de Jerez and book a tasting at one of the historic bodegas such as Tío Pepe. Catch a flamenco show at the Centro Andaluz de Flamenco. Motorhome parking is easy to find near the old quarter.
Follow the coast 125 km south-east from Cádiz through Bolonia and its Roman ruins of Baelo Claudia before reaching Tarifa, Europe's southernmost mainland point. Continue to Gibraltar for its famous Rock and Barbary macaques. Campervan-friendly campsites dot the Tarifa coastline, popular with windsurfers.
Travel 155 km north-east from Cádiz into the Serranía de Ronda. Cross the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, stopping at the village of Grazalema for hiking trails. Ronda's Puente Nuevo spans the dramatic El Tajo gorge and the Plaza de Toros is one of Spain's oldest bullrings. Motorhome bays sit just outside the old town.
Head 260 km north-east from Cádiz through rolling olive groves to Córdoba. Visit the Mezquita-Catedral, stroll the flower-filled patios of the Judería, and cross the Puente Romano over the Guadalquivir. Break the journey in Écija, known for its Baroque bell towers. Campervan services are available at campsites on the city outskirts.
Drive 300 km north-east from Cádiz, looping through Doñana National Park — a UNESCO-listed wetland home to flamingos and Iberian lynx. Continue to Seville to see the Alcázar, the Cathedral and the Plaza de España. Campervan pitches near Doñana fill up in spring, so book ahead for the best spots.

The Cádiz coastline offers a fine selection of campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. Most sites sit along the Atlantic shore between El Puerto de Santa María and Tarifa, giving you direct beach access and sea breezes. Expect serviced pitches with electrical hook-ups, fresh water, waste disposal points, showers and Wi-Fi. Several sites around Cádiz also provide laundry facilities, on-site shops and children's play areas, making longer stays comfortable.
Parking a larger vehicle in Cádiz old town is tricky due to narrow streets and limited space on the peninsula. Designated car parks on the outskirts and near the port area are your best options. Overnight parking in public spaces is generally not permitted for motorhomes within the city centre, so plan to use a campsite or an authorised aire for sleeping. Always check height barriers before entering underground or covered car parks.
Everything went smooth during the whole pick up and return process. The van has seen some life but everything was clean and in great working condition + the price was very competitive when comparing to anything else available at the time. Very enjoyable trip with the van, highly recommended
First class change over everything was explained in detail, beautifully clean just how it should be! The vehicle is a 2026 model so one of the newest I've seen available to hire! Yes I would hire again and highly recommend
I had the most wonderful trip in Eve’s van. It has everything you need, a great sized fridge, a large comfy bed, cooking equipment, electrics to be off grid, a great shower & toilet. The van ran very smoothly and was a perfect size even driving through the towns was no problem at all. They were very accommodating, helping me with local tip and recommendations. I’d 100% recommend this van to anyone thinking of taking a road trip, you won’t regret it :)
Inigio and his lovely girlfriend looked after Dolly for one week here in the Algarve area. They brought her back clean and in really good shape. Before and during the rental period we had a very good dialogue. I can highly reccomend them to lend your car. :-)
Our trip was fantastic, couldn't recommend travelling Sicily via Camper further. Angela and Luca made that super easy with clear comms and help pre booking, during holiday and after. pick up and drop off was a breeze. Clear instructions on how to use the van. All in all great trip.
