Vancouver's seawall stretches over 28 km around the downtown peninsula, making it the longest uninterrupted waterfront path in Canada. Framed by the Pacific Ocean to the west and the Coast Mountains to the north, this coastal city offers a remarkable mix of urban culture and outdoor adventure. Stanley Park covers 405 hectares of temperate rainforest right on the city's doorstep, while the Museum of Anthropology at the University of British Columbia houses one of the world's finest collections of Northwest Coast First Nations art. Across the harbour, the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park draws visitors to walk 137 metres above the Capilano River canyon. For a change of pace, Granville Island Public Market is the place to sample local produce, artisan bread and fresh seafood. Victoria, the provincial capital, sits just 113 km to the south-west via ferry, and the mountain resort town of Whistler is roughly 125 km to the north along the spectacular Sea-to-Sky Highway. Vancouver's wide, well-maintained roads and proximity to both coastline and mountains make it an ideal base for exploring by campervan or motorhome. With Yescapa, you can hire directly from local owners who know the best routes and overnight spots, giving you a genuine head start on your British Columbia road trip.
Vancouver is wonderful to explore year-round. Summer, from June to September, brings long daylight hours and warm temperatures ideal for campervan touring along the coast. The Vancouver International Jazz Festival in late June and the Celebration of Light fireworks competition in July and August add extra excitement. Spring and autumn are quieter, with comfortable driving conditions and more availability on Yescapa, where peer-to-peer pricing often means better value outside peak months. Book your motorhome early for July and August, the most popular season for road trips in British Columbia.

Vancouver and its surrounding area offer a good range of campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. You will find urban parks with full electrical hook-ups and modern shower blocks close to the city, as well as provincial parks with spacious pitches set among old-growth forest just a short drive north or east. Many sites provide fresh-water fill-up points, waste disposal stations and Wi-Fi, so you can stay connected while enjoying the great outdoors around Vancouver.
Vancouver enforces specific parking rules for larger vehicles, so it is worth planning ahead. Many central streets have height or length restrictions, and overnight parking on public roads is generally not permitted for recreational vehicles. Look for dedicated RV-friendly car parks or park-and-ride facilities on the outskirts, where you can leave your vehicle and take transit into the city centre. Always check posted signage for time limits and vehicle size allowances.
great van a few interior problems but apart from that all good
check in took 1.40 hr! legible dirty outside with tape repairs to window and mirror paid for gas but when we got there found canister was empty and we had to replace ourselves
Everything was amazing
Great experience renting the Jimny. The owners were brilliant to deal with from start to finish, and the Jeep was in excellent condition. It was perfect for exploring the Algarve. Would definitely recommend and would happily rent from them again!
Clean, well-maintained vehicle that gave us so many great memories! We traveled to many places and drove around 900 km ourselves, and it handled everything flawlessly. Thanks to its size, parking was super easy, we could fit anywhere, and we were able to sleep in spots where a different kind of campervan wouldn't have worked. It is fully equipped with everything provided, even extra games for beach days! The bed and bedding were clean, and it has a really comfortable mattress. The owners were super nice and sweet. Everything went smoothly during both pickup and drop-off, and they were always there to help whenever we needed it, even when we got a bit lost! 😅 Plus point that they were super cool and easy to talk to. P.S. The AC works like a charm!
Sergey's van is great. Really spacious, easy to drive. We had a great trip. Sergey was really nice helpful and was on hand to help with any questions during the trip. He even gave us a lift to the train station in Ljubljana! Would 100% recommend.
