Lisbon's Vasco da Gama Bridge stretches 12.3 km across the Tagus estuary, making it the longest bridge in the European Union. The Portuguese capital rewards curious travellers with a mix of historic quarters and riverside grandeur. Wander through the tiled alleyways of Alfama, ride the iconic Tram 28 past the Sé de Lisboa cathedral, and take in panoramic views from the Castelo de São Jorge. The Belém district is home to the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the unmistakable Torre de Belém standing guard at the waterfront. For contemporary culture, the MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology offers striking exhibitions right on the riverbank. Sintra, with its fairy-tale palaces, sits just 30 km to the north-west, while the surf beaches of Ericeira are roughly 50 km up the coast — both make for easy day trips in a campervan. Lisbon's broad riverside avenues and well-signed ring roads make navigating by motorhome straightforward, though the narrow lanes of the old town are best explored on foot. With Yescapa, you hire your campervan directly from local owners in and around Lisbon, which means flexible pick-up points, personal tips on the best routes south to the Algarve or north to the Silver Coast, and a genuinely local start to your Portuguese road trip.
Lisbon enjoys a mild Atlantic climate that suits campervan travel year-round. Late spring and early autumn are especially pleasant for exploring, with comfortable driving temperatures and quieter campsites. In June, the Festas de Lisboa fill the city's streets with music, sardine grills, and parades honouring Santo António. Summer is the busiest season, so booking your Lisbon motorhome hire through Yescapa early lets you lock in competitive peer-to-peer prices. Autumn brings the Festival de Sintra and golden light along the Tagus — ideal for unhurried road trips south.

Most sites provide electric hook-ups, modern shower blocks, and dedicated pitches for larger vehicles. Booking ahead during summer ensures you secure a pitch near Lisbon with all the facilities you need.
Lisbon has several large car parks that can accommodate motorhomes and campervans, though height barriers apply at some underground facilities. Overnight parking in public streets is generally permitted unless signposted otherwise, but always check local signs for time limits and vehicle-size restrictions. The areas around Parque das Nações and Belém offer the most spacious options for larger vehicles, while the Monsanto forest park provides a quieter alternative close to the centre.
The best experience ever!! Amazing van and amazing people who run it
Muchas gracias. Gary y Michelle
Lovely experience and fantastic van. Clean and worked very well. Leonardo and Eleanora were very friendly and helpful. One small feedback is the fridge did not work very well but otherwise its a great van.
Muy buena experiencia. Ana nos ha tratado muy bien.
Proprietários espetaculares e super atenciosos. Autocaravana estava impecável, super confortável, excelente condução. Painéis solares dão autonomia total. Tudo impecável.
We had an amazing trip! Rafaela and Carina were so kind, and we couldn’t recommend their van enough 🤩🙏🏼 The van had everything we needed for a proper “van life” experience, and you can also stay at campsites whenever you want!
