Barcelona province stretches across 7,728 square kilometres, from the 100-kilometre Mediterranean coastline to the pre-Pyrenean peaks of the Serra del Cadí, making it one of the most geographically varied provinces in Catalonia. Beyond the capital city, you can explore the sacred mountain of Montserrat, rising 1,236 metres above the Llobregat valley, or wander through the medieval streets of Vic, roughly 70 km north of Barcelona. The wine-producing comarca of Alt Penedès invites you to taste cava in the cellars of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, while the Parc Natural del Montseny — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve — offers forested trails and wild camping spots just 50 km from the coast. Coastal towns such as Sitges and El Masnou provide seaside stopovers with easy motorhome access, and the inland roads through the Bages region reward you with Romanesque churches and quiet overnight parking. Driving from Sitges in the south to Berga in the north covers around 130 km, giving you a taste of how compact yet diverse the province really is. With Yescapa, you hire your campervan or motorhome directly from local owners across Barcelona province, choosing from a wide range of vehicles that suit everything from a weekend beach trip to a fortnight exploring mountain passes.
Barcelona province is ideal from April to October, with spring and early autumn offering comfortable temperatures for both coastal and mountain routes. The Festa Major de Sitges in late August fills the town with parades and fireworks, while the Fira de Santa Llúcia in December brings festive markets to the capital. Summer is the most popular season, so booking your campervan on Yescapa early lets you secure the best choice from local owners — often at better rates than traditional hire companies. Autumn is perfect for exploring the Montseny's forests in full colour, with quieter campsites and mild weather along the coast.
To help you plan your trip, we have selected six unmissable road trips, suitable for all travelers.
This 150 km route links the beaches of Sitges with the cava cellars of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and Vilafranca del Penedès. Allow 3–5 days to enjoy coastal walks, vineyard tastings, and well-equipped campsites along the way. Ideal for campervans.
A compact 120 km loop over 3–6 days through the Bages comarca. Visit the monastery of Montserrat, explore the salt mountain of Cardona, and stop in Manresa. Roads suit both campervans and motorhomes, with several rural campsites en route.
Cover 280 km in 5–8 days, starting along the Maresme coast at El Masnou before climbing into the Parc Natural del Montseny. Detour through Sant Celoni and return via Granollers. Mountain roads are well-surfaced but winding — a campervan handles them comfortably.
This 350 km route over 5–8 days winds through the vineyards of Alt Penedès and the rural Anoia comarca. Stop in Igualada for its leather museum, taste wines near Subirats, and enjoy quiet overnight spots. Suits motorhomes and campervans alike.
A 500 km circuit over 7–11 days linking Sitges, Montserrat, Vic, and the Montseny massif before returning along the coast. You pass through diverse landscapes with well-spaced service areas. A motorhome gives you extra comfort on longer legs.
At 600 km over 10–15 days, this route reaches the northern limits of Barcelona province. Drive from Berga through the Serra de Picancel to Solsona, then loop via Cardona and Moià. Campsites in Berga and the Berguedà region offer full hook-ups for motorhomes.

Barcelona province offers campsites ranging from beachfront parks along the Maresme and Garraf coasts to mountain retreats in the Montseny and Berguedà. Most sites provide electric hook-ups, fresh-water points, and waste-disposal stations suitable for both campervans and motorhomes. Whether you prefer a seaside pitch with direct beach access or a shaded forest spot inland, you will find well-maintained facilities spread right across the province.
Barcelona province is served by a network of autopistas (motorways) and autovies (dual carriageways). The AP-7 and C-32 are toll roads — you can pay at booths with card or cash, and some sections use electronic tolling. Motorhomes over 3,500 kg are classed as heavy vehicles and pay higher toll rates. Speed limits for vehicles over 3,500 kg are typically 90 km/h on motorways and 80 km/h on conventional roads. Rest areas with ample parking for larger vehicles appear regularly along the AP-7 and C-33. Mountain routes towards Berga and the pre-Pyrenees may have tighter bends, so plan your route if you are driving a wider motorhome.
We went for a 7 days trip with 2 of my friends. It was an amazing time. Camper was really great - in a good condition, clean, comfortable. We did 1000km without any problems. I can recommend this car and Alvaro as a very nice owner.
1st time we have hired a Motorhome, Sandrine was a joy to hire from, answered all of our questions as newbies. She couldn't make hiring their MH any easier, Their Motor home was in perfect condition we had the unlimited Km's option and the vehicle never missed a beat over the long distances we drove, Highly recommend Hiring from Sandrine 5 Star !!
