What you need to know about roads and motorways in Finistère
Finistère has no motorway toll roads — the RN12 and RN165 dual carriageways connecting Brest, Quimper and the rest of Brittany are free to use. Speed limits for motorhomes over 3.5 tonnes are 110 km/h on dual carriageways and 80 km/h on single-carriageway roads. Many coastal routes are narrower départementale roads, so take care on the Crozon Peninsula and around the Abers where passing places can be tight for larger vehicles. I had the most wonderful trip in Eve’s van. It has everything you need, a great sized fridge, a large comfy bed, cooking equipment, electrics to be off grid, a great shower & toilet. The van ran very smoothly and was a perfect size even driving through the towns was no problem at all. They were very accommodating, helping me with local tip and recommendations. I’d 100% recommend this van to anyone thinking of taking a road trip, you won’t regret it :)
