Belgium packs over 30,000 km of paved roads into a country barely 280 km wide, making it one of Europe's most accessible destinations for a road trip. From the 67 km North Sea coastline — served by the longest tramline in the world — to the forested hills of the Ardennes in the south, the landscape shifts remarkably within short distances. Brussels to Bruges is just 100 km, while Liège to Dinant along the Meuse Valley covers roughly 75 km of winding riverside scenery. You can visit the Atomium in Brussels, wander the medieval Cloth Hall in Ypres, explore the caves of Han-sur-Lesse, or cycle the towpaths around Damme. Belgium's compact size means you rarely drive more than two hours between major stops, yet each region — Flanders, Wallonia, and Brussels — has its own language, cuisine, and character. Motorhome-friendly aires and well-maintained campsites are spread across all three regions, so you can plan routes without worrying about long gaps between services. With Yescapa, you hire a campervan or motorhome directly from local owners based throughout Belgium, giving you the flexibility to pick up a vehicle close to where your trip begins. Whether you fancy Belgian beer trails, battlefields, or coastal dunes, a campervan lets you set the pace and follow your curiosity.
May to September is the prime window for a campervan trip in Belgium, with long daylight hours and comfortable temperatures for exploring outdoors. The Gentse Feesten in Ghent each July is one of Europe's largest cultural festivals, while the Ducasse de Mons in June is a UNESCO-listed procession worth timing your route around. Spring and autumn are quieter, with lower campsite rates and fewer crowds at popular spots in the Ardennes. Through Yescapa, you benefit from peer-to-peer pricing year-round, often more affordable than traditional hire companies. Book early for July and August to secure the widest choice of motorhomes and campervans across Belgium.
To help you plan your trip, we have selected six unmissable road trips, suitable for all travelers.
This 180 km route links Ghent, Bruges, and Antwerp — three of Belgium's greatest art cities. Allow 3–5 days to visit the Ghent Altarpiece, stroll Bruges' canals, and explore Antwerp's MAS museum. Campervan-friendly stopovers are plentiful between each city.
Follow 150 km of Belgium's North Sea coastline from De Panne to Knokke-Heist. Over 3–6 days, stop at Ostend's seafood stalls and the dunes of Westende. Ideal for a compact campervan, with coastal campsites offering full hook-ups along the way.
A 400 km loop through southern Belgium over 5–8 days, taking in the caves of Han-sur-Lesse and the spa town of Malmedy. Wind through Ardennes forests and stop at local breweries. Roads are well-maintained and suit both campervans and motorhomes.
At 600 km over 10–15 days, this route covers Belgium from the Trappist breweries of Chimay and Orval to the nature reserves of the Hautes Fagnes. End with a few days on the coast near De Haan. A campervan gives you the freedom to linger at each stop.
This 550 km circuit over 7–11 days connects Brussels, Namur, the Ardennes, and Bruges, giving you a taste of Belgium's full diversity. Explore Namur's citadel and the battlefields near Ypres. Campsites are well-spaced for comfortable daily driving in a motorhome.
Covering 350 km over 5–8 days, this route traces the River Meuse from Liège through Dinant to Bouillon. Visit the Citadel of Dinant and the castle at Bouillon. The valley roads suit motorhomes well, with riverside aires for overnight stops in Belgium's Wallonia region.

Belgium offers a wide range of campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes, from coastal parks with sea views to woodland sites deep in the Ardennes. Most provide electric hook-ups, modern shower blocks, and dedicated motorhome service points. You will find well-equipped options across Flanders, Wallonia, and the coast, so wherever your Belgium road trip takes you, a comfortable pitch is never far away.
Belgium's motorways are toll-free for all vehicles, so you can travel the full network without paying road charges. Speed limits for motorhomes over 3.5 tonnes are 90 km/h on motorways and 60 km/h in built-up areas — lower than for cars, so keep an eye on signage. The E40, E19, and E411 are the main arteries connecting the coast, Brussels, and the Ardennes. Rest areas with dedicated motorhome service points appear regularly along major routes. Note that Belgium's motorways are famously well-lit at night, making evening driving straightforward.
Communication with the owner was great, van was immaculate, heaps of choice, love the peer to peer concept. Easy to add an extra driver and ID checks were very thorough but straightforward. Changing dates wasn't so easy, the owner was great, but the process at the back end took some manual effort. Teething problems, not a big deal. Main area that needs improving (for me anyway) is the deposit. There was a single line in a table stating Deposit: cash or transfer, that I hadn't seen. The owner asked for the cash or a transfer when we were at the car, which he explained was normal process, but Yescapa could have explained beforehand. I transferred €2000 directly to the owner, which didn't feel comfortable. I had expected this would all be done via Yescapa. I ended up losing €45 in exchange rate variations + fees as well, the owner's bank had challenges which meant it to 5 days to get a lot of cash back. It was lucky we had that amount at hand. I would use Yescapa again. I hope they can tidy up and improve the processes though.
Very easy and open person… all went well , on time and with all the agremants.
Incredible time spent across the south of France with an incredible van! From beach, lakes, mountains and fields, it got me places I didn’t even pre conceive. Can’t speak more highly of my over all experience from van collection at train station to drop off. Drives smoother than my Suzuki jimny and can confirm very 6ft 4 friendly.
We had an amazing experience hiring Eli's campervan! It was perfect for our family of four – myself, my partner, and our two young daughters. The van was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our trip. It was easy to drive, well-equipped, and made exploring the malaga so much more enjoyable. The owners were friendly, helpful, and made the whole rental process smooth from start to finish. We made some unforgettable family memories and wouldn't hesitate to rent this campervan again. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a fun, comfortable, and hassle-free adventure in Spain. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had a great experience. All went smoothly and the camper van was perfect. Mike was very accommodating and communicative throughout and we would recommend highly.
Communication was easy, the vehicle is in good condition and looks like the shared photos. Has the amenities needed and comfy bedding. Having the solar charger is a plus given we didn't drive much, so there was no need for recharging with electricity.
