Vienna's Ringstrasse, a grand boulevard completed in 1865, loops 5.3 km around the historic centre and connects many of the city's most celebrated landmarks. Strolling or cycling this route, you pass the Wiener Staatsoper, the Kunsthistorisches Museum, and the imposing Rathaus. Beyond the Ring, the sprawling grounds of Schönbrunn Palace offer formal gardens, a maze, and Europe's oldest zoo, the Tiergarten Schönbrunn, founded in 1752. For contemporary culture, head to the MuseumsQuartier, one of the largest art complexes in the world, housing the Leopold Museum and mumok. Food lovers can wander the stalls of Naschmarkt, where vendors have traded spices, cheese, and fresh produce since the 16th century. Bratislava sits just 65 km to the east, making it an easy cross-border day trip, while the Wachau Valley begins roughly 80 km to the west, with terraced vineyards lining the Danube. Vienna's flat terrain and well-maintained roads make it straightforward to navigate in a larger vehicle, and the Danube cycle path running through the city doubles as a handy orientation line. With Yescapa, you hire a campervan or motorhome directly from local owners in Vienna, which means flexible pick-up points across the city and first-hand tips on where to park and what to see.
Vienna is wonderful from April through October. The Wiener Festwochen, a major performing-arts festival, runs through May and June, filling theatres and open-air stages across the city. In December, Christmas markets such as the Christkindlmarkt at Rathausplatz draw visitors from across Europe. Summer is the busiest season, so booking your campervan on Yescapa a few weeks ahead helps you secure the best choice and price from local owners. Spring and early autumn bring comfortable driving weather and quieter campsites along the Danube, ideal for a relaxed motorhome trip.

Vienna offers a handful of well-equipped campsites within the city limits, plus further options in the surrounding countryside. Most sites provide electric hook-ups, modern shower and toilet blocks, and dedicated pitches for both campervans and motorhomes. Several are positioned along the Danube, giving you easy cycling access to the centre. Outside Vienna, the town of Klosterneuburg adds another convenient base with green, riverside camping.
Vienna operates a strict parking-zone system in its inner districts, and vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are generally not permitted to park on public streets within these zones. For motorhomes and campervans, Park and Ride (P+R) facilities on the outskirts are the most practical option. These are linked to the U-Bahn network, so you can leave your vehicle and reach the centre in minutes. Overnight parking outside designated areas is not allowed within the city.
It's the second time I've hired from Ruben and I hope not the last. He is very honest and explains everything clearly. His RV is lovely to drive and has everything you need. If you're looking for an RV, go with Ruben!
Overall experience was great! Host was very responsive and proactive and provided support before and throughout our trip. The van has everything you need to enjoy a nice camping experience.
Martine was a wonderful host and took us through the many features and inventory with kindness and good humour. She made great efforts to help overcome our language barrier, for which we were very grateful. The motor home was in excellent condition and very well appointed. The electric self lowering bed was very comfortable and retracted to the roof freeing up valuable space for the living quarters. The Fiat vehicle controls were easy to handle and once we got used to the size was no trouble motoring around the Loire. The vehicle was very reliable and well maintained. Martine was quick to reply to a water heating issue we had and resolved our query with easy to follow instructions. Overall, we were very satisfied with our 8 day rental and would not hesitate to recommend this motor home for future rentals.
We had a great honeymoon to the Dolomites in the GreyPanther! Thomas was very thorough with his introduction to the van, communication and I would highy recommend!
