Phoenix sits within the Sonoran Desert, making it the only major city in the world where wild saguaro cacti grow naturally — some standing over 12 metres tall and living for 200 years. The Desert Botanical Garden showcases more than 50,000 desert plants across 140 acres, while the Heard Museum houses one of the finest collections of Native American art and cultural artefacts in the United States. For panoramic views, Camelback Mountain offers a challenging but rewarding hike just minutes from the city centre, and the Musical Instrument Museum displays over 8,000 instruments from every country on the globe. Scottsdale, a lively neighbour, lies only 16 km to the east, and the red-rock landscapes of Sedona are roughly 185 km to the north — both ideal additions to any road trip. The terrain around Phoenix is largely flat and open, with wide, well-maintained roads that suit larger vehicles perfectly. Hiring a campervan here means you can wake up surrounded by desert scenery one morning and be exploring pine forests the next. With Yescapa, you connect directly with local owners who know the area, so you can pick up a motorhome or campervan that comes with first-hand tips on the best routes, scenic stops, and overnight spots across Arizona.
Phoenix enjoys sunshine nearly year-round, making it a superb base for campervan adventures in any season. October to April is especially popular, with comfortable temperatures ideal for hiking and exploring the desert. The Arizona State Fair runs from late September through early November, bringing rides, live music, and local food to the fairgrounds. February's Waste Management Phoenix Open draws golf fans from across the country. Hiring through Yescapa during quieter months like May or September often means more choice and better value from local owners. Book ahead for the winter season, when Phoenix is at its busiest with visitors.

The Phoenix area offers a great mix of desert campgrounds and well-serviced RV parks suited to both campervans and motorhomes. Many sites provide full hook-ups, showers, toilets, and laundry facilities, while others sit within regional parks where you can enjoy hiking trails right from your pitch. Whether you prefer an urban base with easy city access or a quieter spot among the cacti, you will find plenty of options around Phoenix.
Phoenix is a car-friendly city with wide streets and plenty of parking options that can accommodate larger vehicles. Many shopping centres and attractions offer spacious car parks, though always check height and length restrictions before pulling in with a motorhome. Overnight parking on public streets is generally permitted unless signage states otherwise, but dedicated RV parks remain the safest choice for extended stays. Plan ahead and you will find convenient spots across the city.
It was a pleasure dealimg with Alain. The Motorhome was in good condition and Alain was very helpful at pick up and drop off ensuring we knew how everything worked.
We had a great time in the motorhome. Jean Pierre was very friendly and professional. We were shown how everything works before setting off. We would definitely recommend hiring this vehicle. Jean Pierre only speaks French but with the aid of a translator app and his son it worked out absolutely fine. Thanks again Jean-Pierre.
Frederic was excellent. Easy to contact and helpful at all times. The whole experience was a joy.
Fantastic, we were welcomed and everything was fantastic.
We hired this camper Asier for our family holiday through Spain and France, what a great van it is with everything you need. Asier is very friendly and helpful even though there was a language barrier. We would definitely use again if we needed to.
Mario was very helpful and supported us with this new experience. The vehicle was basically brand new and while there were some minor problems with cupboard doors, it was a very well equipped and comfortable van for 2 adults and two children of 10 and 13 years old. Highly recommended!
