What you need to know about roads and motorways in New Forest

The New Forest sits between the M27 and the A31, both of which provide easy access from Southampton, Bournemouth, and beyond. There are no toll roads within the area. Speed limits across the open forest are strictly set at 40 mph to protect free-roaming animals, and many minor roads drop to 30 mph or lower. Motorhome drivers should note that some forest lanes are single-track with passing places, so larger vehicles are best kept to the main A-roads and B-roads linking Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, and Lymington.
