Melbourne's iconic Flinders Street Station has welcomed travellers since 1854, making it the oldest city railway station in Australia. From the street art laneways of Hosier Lane to the vast collection at the National Gallery of Victoria, this is a city that rewards curiosity at every turn. Stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens, catch a match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, or browse the stalls at Queen Victoria Market — one of the largest open-air markets in the Southern Hemisphere. The Great Ocean Road begins just 100 km south-west, while the Yarra Valley wine region sits only 60 km to the east, giving you easy access to some of Victoria's most celebrated landscapes. Melbourne's flat urban layout and well-signed ring roads make driving a motorhome or campervan straightforward, and the surrounding Mornington Peninsula offers coastal routes ideal for a leisurely drive. With Yescapa, you hire your campervan directly from local owners across Melbourne's suburbs, which means flexible pick-up points, personal tips on the best routes, and peer-to-peer pricing that keeps your trip affordable. Whether you are planning a weekend escape or a longer adventure through Victoria, Melbourne is the perfect launchpad.
Melbourne is wonderful year-round, though the warmer months from November to March are especially popular for campervan travel. January brings the Australian Open to Melbourne Park, while the Melbourne International Comedy Festival fills the city with energy each April. Booking your campervan through Yescapa during the shoulder months of October or March often means more choice from local owners and competitive peer-to-peer rates. Summer is the busiest season, so reserving your motorhome early ensures you get the best selection. Melbourne's mild autumn and spring are ideal for exploring nearby coastal and country roads without the peak-season buzz.

Melbourne and its surrounds offer a great mix of urban holiday parks, coastal foreshore camping, and countryside retreats suited to both campervans and motorhomes. Most parks provide powered pitches, dump points, hot showers, and laundry facilities. Sites closer to Melbourne tend to fill up during school holidays, so booking ahead is a good idea. Further out, you will find quieter options on the Mornington Peninsula and around the Dandenong Ranges, many with generous pitch sizes for larger vehicles.
Melbourne's central streets can be tight for larger vehicles, so planning your parking in advance is worthwhile. Many inner-city car parks have height restrictions of around 2.1 m, which rules out most motorhomes and high-roof campervans. Look for open-air lots or dedicated oversized-vehicle bays instead. Overnight parking on public streets is generally not permitted without a council permit, so always check local signage. For longer stays, holiday parks on the city fringe often allow day visitors to park while you explore by public transport.
Incredibly easy- Hector was there to talk us through everything. He was happy to answer all of our questions and gave us excellent practical advice. We felt fully supported abd it gave us a real confidence boost when we took control of the camper. We had to contact Hector during out trip sbout the van and he was on hand and easy to engage with. Ditto with our drop off. We loved using the camper: it was confortable and easily accommodated our family of 5 (including two teenagers!). It was a wonderful way to explore the Basque Country and we would definitely be up for doing it again.
Tuvimos una gran semana con la furgo, yo y dos hijos adultos. El dueño Samu fue de mucha ayuda por mensajes de texto para extra preguntas mientras estuvimos fuera, y nos llevó a la estación después de devolver la furgo
We had a lovely trip. The van has absolutely everything you need, and Pedro and Davids were so helpful and kind. Would recommend this van!
We had a great time with the van, the owner was very helpful and the van was perfect for our weekend around SW Biarritz.
Everything was as described by Giulio. He was very accommodating and ready for any question/doubt we had. It was our first experience with a motorhome and Giulio made sure we felt comfortable and safe trying his motorhome. Thank you Giulio and see you next time!
Grazie mille Lorenzo! Alla prossima :)
