Geneva's iconic Jet d'Eau fountain shoots water 140 metres into the air above Lake Geneva, making it one of the tallest fountains in the world. Sitting at the southwestern tip of the lake where the Rhône flows out, this cosmopolitan Swiss city blends French-speaking culture with alpine scenery in a way few places can match. Stroll through the Old Town to visit St Pierre's Cathedral, whose north tower offers panoramic views across the lake to Mont Blanc. The Palais des Nations, European headquarters of the United Nations, opens its doors for guided tours, while the CERN Science Gateway lets you explore the world of particle physics just outside the city. For a quieter afternoon, the Parc des Bastions is home to the famous Reformation Wall, a 100-metre monument carved into the old city fortifications. Lausanne is just 62 km to the north-east along the lakeshore, and Chamonix-Mont-Blanc sits 83 km to the south-east, giving you easy access to both lakeside towns and high-altitude adventures. The roads around Geneva are well-maintained and suited to larger vehicles, though some alpine passes nearby require careful planning. With Yescapa, you can hire a campervan or motorhome directly from a local owner in the Geneva area, which means flexible pick-up arrangements and genuine tips on where to go. It is a peer-to-peer approach that keeps things personal and straightforward, whether you are heading along the lake or up into the mountains.
Geneva is wonderful from late spring through to autumn. The Fêtes de Genève in August fills the lakefront with concerts, fairground rides and spectacular fireworks, while the Escalade festival in December celebrates the city's history with costumed parades and chocolate cauldrons. Summer is the busiest season, so booking your campervan through Yescapa early gives you the widest choice from local owners at competitive prices. Autumn brings golden colours around the lake and quieter campsites, ideal for a relaxed motorhome trip through the surrounding vineyards and alpine foothills.

The Geneva region offers a good mix of lakeside and countryside campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. Most sites provide electric hook-ups, fresh water points, waste disposal and modern shower blocks. Within a short drive of Geneva you will find pitches right on the shores of Lake Geneva, as well as quieter spots further into the Vaud countryside, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
Geneva has several Park and Ride facilities on the outskirts that can accommodate larger vehicles, making them a practical option if you want to visit the city centre by public transport. Overnight parking in a campervan or motorhome is not generally permitted on public streets within the city, so plan to use a dedicated campsite or designated area. Always check height restrictions before entering underground car parks, as most are unsuitable for taller vehicles.
Passenger window button doesn’t work. Railing for seats is not fluently moving.
