Friesland offers a wide spread of campsites, from lakeside parks in the south to coastal spots near the Wadden Sea. Many sites provide dedicated motorhome service points with fresh water, waste disposal and electric hook-ups, while smaller campervan pitches sit alongside touring fields with shower blocks, Wi-Fi and on-site shops. Friesland's main motorway, the A7, runs east–west and connects the province to Groningen and North Holland, while the A32 links Leeuwarden to Heerenveen and the south. Dutch motorways are toll-free, so you can travel freely without vignettes or road charges. The national speed limit on motorways is 100 km/h during the day (06:00–19:00) and 130 km/h at night, though motorhomes over 3,500 kg are limited to 90 km/h on motorways and 80 km/h on regional roads. Friesland's secondary roads are generally flat and well-surfaced, but some rural dyke roads are narrow — take care with wider vehicles.
