Bremen's Town Musicians statue, inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, has greeted visitors outside the Rathaus since 1953 and remains one of Germany's most photographed landmarks. The city's UNESCO-listed Town Hall and Roland statue anchor the Marktplatz, where centuries of Hanseatic trading history come alive. Stroll through the Schnoor quarter, a maze of narrow lanes lined with craft shops and cafés dating back to the 15th century, or explore the Universum Bremen science centre with its whale-shaped architecture and over 300 interactive exhibits. Culture lovers can spend an afternoon at the Kunsthalle Bremen, home to an impressive collection spanning Old Masters to contemporary art. Beyond the city centre, the Bürgerpark offers 200 hectares of green space ideal for a leisurely walk. Hamburg lies roughly 120 km to the north-east, while the North Sea coast at Cuxhaven is about 115 km north, making Bremen a superb base for exploring northern Germany. The flat terrain and well-maintained roads around the Weser River valley make driving a motorhome here straightforward, even for first-timers. With Yescapa, you hire your campervan directly from local owners who know the region, often sharing tips on the best routes and overnight spots. This peer-to-peer approach keeps costs fair and gives you the flexibility to set off at your own pace, whether you are heading for the coast or deeper into Lower Saxony.
Bremen is wonderful from late spring through to autumn. The Bremer Freimarkt, one of Germany's oldest funfairs, runs for 17 days each October and draws visitors from across the region — book your campervan early for that period. Summer brings the Breminale music and arts festival along the Weser riverbanks in July, perfect for enjoying long evenings outdoors. From May to September, campsites around Bremen operate at full capacity, so securing your spot in advance is wise. With Yescapa, you benefit from peer-to-peer pricing that often undercuts traditional hire companies, and shoulder months like May or September offer a great balance of pleasant weather and availability.

Bremen and its surrounding area offer a good mix of urban and countryside camping options for both campervans and motorhomes. In the city itself you can find pitches with electrical hook-ups, fresh water and waste disposal, while sites in the nearby countryside add swimming lakes and generous green space. Most sites provide modern shower and toilet blocks, Wi-Fi and dedicated service areas for larger vehicles, so you are well looked after regardless of your set-up.
Bremen offers several dedicated motorhome and campervan parking areas close to the city centre. Overnight stays in regular car parks are generally not permitted, so look for designated stellplätze that welcome leisure vehicles. Most provide basic services such as fresh water and waste disposal. Always check posted height and length restrictions before parking, as some city-centre car parks have barriers unsuitable for taller vehicles.
My partner and I have been on van trips before, but only borrowing friend's vans in the UK. This was our first time renting a van abroad, first time using Yescapa and first time exploring the Picos de Europa. Overall it was a super smooth experience and enabled us to have one of the best holidays ever - so we would fully recommend! Firstly, the booking experience. We were visiting during the eclipse and so we were wary that everything was getting booked up. We stumbled upon Yescapa and this van, then the booking experience was pretty simple so it kind of felt too good to be true. Picking up the van was a doddle, with all the instructions sent clearly over WhatsApp. This meant we felt comfortable hitting the ground running. Secondly, the van was absolutely perfect for our holiday. The shower out the back was perfect for cooling down and cleaning off after runs. The camp stove worked great for making porridge in the morning, and we were grateful for the included chairs - especially when it came to watching the eclipse. We found that the fridge tended to heat the cabin when it was running which meant it worked quite well for helping control the temperature i.e. we'd leave the fridge running if there was a cold night due. Finally, thank you to Safira the host for letting us use the van for our wonderful trip. She was very quick to respond to any questions, and super lovely in helping us out during pick-up and drop-off.
We had a lovely few days in France in the motorhome. We picked up about 30 minutes from Calais which was very convenient for the ferry. The van had everything we needed and we had a great time visiting the Normandy beaches and D day sites.
We had the best experience with this campervan and were so sad when it was time to hand it back! We had it for 3 nights during peak summer at a really reasonable price, and it was absolutely perfect for our little adventure. The host was fantastic and always replied incredibly quickly whenever we had a question. The van itself had everything we could possibly need and more. You can really tell that the owner has thought about all the little details — from salt and pepper, coffee and tea, to plenty of kitchenware and even a coffee machine! The bed was super comfortable and really easy to assemble, and the fan worked brilliantly, which was definitely appreciated during the summer heat. We honestly loved every minute of van life and were genuinely sad to leave. Thank you for helping make our trip so special — we would definitely recommend this campervan to anyone looking for an amazing adventure!
Fantastic rental, they were so helpful and got us all set up for our first ever campervan trip. The van was spotless and practically brand new. Everything was so easy to use and we just sent up the bed each day as we set off for each new place.
Easy to the find location of the vehicle it was a 20 min journey from the airport. We went over all the features quickly was easy to understand. I had a great few days using the camper and would definitely use again. Thanks
Very nice car rental. Very easy to deal with.
