For a holiday with complete peace of mind, we offer a comprehensive cover during the rental period.

The policy covers (*) :

  • Your death or any bodily injury suffered while you are hiring;
  • Damages to the vehicle
  • Any property that you own or are legally responsible that is inside the vehicle.

(*) Subject to policy limits :

Damages to the vehicle is subject to an insurance excess. This cover applies to accidental damage to the vehicle and its accessories (as defined in the insurance policy).


The following insurance deductibles must be deducted from the sum of the damage sustained by the insured vehicle per incident:

  • £500 (Holders of a UK driving licence traveling to the United Kingdom or Ireland) ;
  • £900 (Holder's of a non-UK driving licence);
  • The deductible excess rate increases by £500 for rentals between 16-30 days travelling in mainland Europe.

An insurance excess applies, according to the following principle "one incident = one excess to pay". Each excess will be determined according to the nature of the incident.


Compliance requirements for the owner's vehicle according to the insurance plan:

  • A gross weight less than 3.5 T, the value of which is less than £ 100 000 ;
  • Regular and thorough technical checks of the vehicle carried out according to regulations.

Conditions for renters/drivers of vehicles in agreement with the insurance policy.

  • Renters MUST be between 25 and 69 years of age and hold a driving licence. Drivers between the ages of 70 and 73 may be referred to the insurer but their acceptance will be subject to the decision of the insurer ;
  • Renters must have a driving licence for at least 2 years ;
  • Holders of a UK driving licence must be subject to a licence check. Renters can generate a check code on the site DVLA and must allow Yescapa to check their licence before final acceptance.

Drivers whose occupation is one of the following will not be accepted: (Some cases may be referred to the insurer before final decision)

  • Hawking or general dealers (e.g. market traders, merchants, second hand clothes dealers and the like)
  • Scrapers, vehicle demolishers;
  • Professional Gambling (other than as a clerical worker)
  • Professional athletes ;
  • Entertainment occupations (including part-time) ;
  • Armed forces from countries outside the United Kingdom ;
  • Students ;
  • Unemployed persons.


Coverage covers travel between individuals excluding private transportation and / or transport of expensive goods. The following destinations are allowed :

Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands and any other EU country and also Norway, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary, Liechtenstein and Iceland.
