Coronavirus information

Due to the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Europe, Yescapa is following the World of Health Organization for security measures to be followed. This is why we are adapting our cancellation terms for eligible bookings which will be susceptible to change, depending on the guidelines communicated by the WHO.

For this reason, we regret to inform you that we must cancel all rentals for which the departure falls before 15/04/2020, following sanitary recommendations. Renters and owner concerned are not required to make any specific action, and will be informed by email of the terms applied.

Regarding rentals departing after 15/04/2020, here is the specific policy that will apply:

Which bookings are eligible for the specific COVID-19 cancellation terms?

Bookings concerned should have one or more of the following criteria:

  • Rentals with departure dates that fall between 16/04/2020 and 04/05/2020.
  • Renters who are not able to get to the destination of where the hire vehicle is, for medical or sanitary reasons, due to official transport restrictions, airline or land transport cancellations initiated by transport companies, due to the COVID-19, or suspect and confirmed cases of COVID-19.
  • Owners or renters who tested positive or suspect to be infected by the coronavirus (medical supporting documents required).
  • If events are cancelled and were the aim of the trip (concert, cultural event, sports event, etc).

What is the specific cancellation policy applicable?

Renters and owners eligible can agree to a change of dates for their trip, at no extra cost. If this is possible contact our team by email indicating the new dates of your trip.

If a change of dates is impossible, the booking can be cancelled according to the following terms:

  • The renter will receive a reimbursement of the cost of the rental (owner's remuneration)
  • The owner will not incur cancellation costs
  • Yescapa will provide a voucher of the same amount as the service fees and rental insurance paid, to be used on a future rental, within 18 months after the cancellation date.

What does this cancellation policy imply?

For all cancellations of eligible bookings, owners will not receive their planned remuneration of the cancelled booking. We understand that cancellations are not ideal, even if they occur due to a valid reason. Please don't forget that cancellations due to COVID-19 are first and foremost a safety regulation to protect the health of our community.

The cancellation insurance being offered by a party external to Yescapa, the amount paid for this insurance will not be reimbursed.

In the event of a change of dates, the new rental cost may vary depending on rental and insurance rates during the new period. The owner and renter must agree on the terms applicable for the new booking (dates and rates) and must communicate this information to us by email. In order for us to edit your booking accordingly and in a speedy manner, we ask that both parties, owner and renter are cc'd in the email sent to our team, indicating the new terms of the booking.

If your booking is cancelled, the amount of the voucher for the service fees and rental insurance will be redeemable only for the service fees and rental insurance of a future booking (or more than one future booking), within 18 months from the cancellation date of the initial booking.

If a renter or owner cancels a hire following these terms, both parties will be notified with a notification. Similarly, if an owner cancels a rental according to those terms, their positive response rate will remain unimpacted and no penalties will apply.

If your booking is eligible to COVID-19, the terms of cancellation highlighted here, are prioritized over the usual cancellation terms mentioned on the website.
